Now that you're gone

You thought we needed you

and that we’d fall apart without you

you thought you held us together

and added support in our paths

so we wouldn’t stumble as we walked

you thought we needed objects

and temporary pleasures

would keep you in the picture

But now that you're gone 

my heart and my mind has moved on

there is not a second, not a minute,

not an hour or day

that I would bother to hold on to the pieces you left behind

you torn, you broke, you crushed, and ripped

and clawed your way out

Out of sight and out of mind is what you became

we live it up, now that you’re gone.
