I've never wanted to fly,
But I know there are those who wish to
So if I could fly,
I'd carry those who feel blue
If I could fly, I'd carry their hearts,
Back to the countryside
I'd let them know that I am strong enough
To carry both them and I
If I could fly, I'd travel the world,
And see all the sights they could not
I'd take my camera, my pen and some paper,
And be sure to write them a lot
If I could fly, I'd be their messenger,
Sending their loved ones smiles
That way I'd know that they were happy
When I flew all the while
If I could fly, I'd follow them everywhere,
And be their friend when they cried
But then I'd cry too when I took to the air,
For I hate unwanted goodbyes
If I could fly, I'd be a superhero,
But I'd probably end up being a bird
A symbol of hope that flies around,
Telling fake "hope" and "rest assured"
If I could fly, I'd bring you together,
Across both ocean and sky
But I am bound to be wingless all my life,
Which brings yet another unwanted goodbye
----
