Stalemate

Made a mistake

paid the price.

Want to move on

but their heart is ice.

Betrayed a friend

hurt them deep.

Wounds remain

always to keep.

Ask for forgiveness

yet always denied.

What once was friendship

now all feelings aside.

You’ve done your part

nothing more you can do

But will they forgive?

Will they accept you?

They may or may not

patience is key

For now it is stalemate

between you and me.
