Iris Silverglass haunted Jughead Jones to what he thought would be the end of his days; a glimpse of her in the corridors of Riverdale High would cause his heart to start beating a rapid pace, faster than ever. Because ever since they had split apart, she was all that filled his thoughts ― her dark hair which she often twirled around her ring finger, her playful silver eyes that would light up every now and then when something enticed her.
But she had been done with him long before he could even comprehend that he, Jughead Jones, had been with the girl for one magical summer ― and heartbroken he was. Because he loved Iris Silverglass, and she was so close yet so far. And no matter how hard Betty Cooper tried, she could never be the girl her boyfriend had fallen for long before the young blonde had entered the picture.
note: yet again i have changed the layout lmao. i kind of like this plot but i kind of don't really like riverfail anymore, no offence. but i would totally read it if someone else wrote it tbh. so practically iris is practically perfect in jughead's eyes, and they were together for the summer jason was killed. however, she breaks up with him before school starts and he's pretty much heartbroken. he still has feelings for her and betty is kind of a rebound. iris doesn't really have feelings for her, and after him and betty start dating, befriends cheryl. betty doesn't like that jughead clearly loves iris when betty loves him, so she tries to befriend iris as well and try to be like her, but her plan backfires when cheryl tells her to back off
so you can either make iris have feelings still there for jughead or you can end it bittersweetly with iris happy with someone else and jughead brokenhearted but happy for her
this is also based off the song "Reminding Me" by Vanessa Hudgens and Shawn Hook. You don't have to base it off the song but it's amazing and so deep and emotional and i absolutely love it
