Once the meeting was over, most of everyone left. However, I stayed, rooted in my spot. Thinking about why did they feel the need to resurrect Dom of all people. He was dead for a while now. People should've forgotten about his wretched existence. Not one Greater Demon liked him. Sure, they respected him, but they sure as hell did not like him and his barbaric ways.
I wish I could go and tell Lux this information. I wanted to know how she would react and what she would think. I got up from my seat and walked out of the room, heading to the only room that calmed me down in situations that stressed me out. I opened the large Victorian doors and walked in, loving the smell of old books and paper. I walked down the shelves to my favorite spot in the library Blair had; the bay window next to the large comfy reclining chair.
I halted, noticing there was a woman in the large chair by the bay window. There was a book in her hands and by the spine of the book it read; Lord of the Flies. She wore a long champagne dress that pooled around her feet. Her nails were long and sharp, painted red. Her red hair was tied up high, showing the side of her face. Her lips matched her nails.
The woman in gold looked up at me and smiled, showing off her pearly white teeth. "Hello, Jesse." She simpered softly, as if she was the most innocent woman in the world.
I frowned and tilted my head, wondering why did she know me by my name. "And you are?"
"Everen Bloodtrei, it's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." Everen stood up and held out her hand. I shook it, flinching slightly to how cold it was. Hairs on the back of my neck stood up and at that moment I knew that this woman was not to be messed with. She donned the name of the man in charge and her sex energy was rolling off in waves. I had to keep mine under wraps before I let it out on her.
"Bloodtrei? What is your relation to the Head?" I asked, wondering why she was here.
"He's my father. Don't worry, you don't have to be on edge with me. I'm not like him. Take a seat," Everen sat back down on the chair and motioned towards the chair across from her.
I took a seat hesitantly, surveying the area around me to make sure that there wasn't any other incubi in the area. I heard the tale of Everen Bloodtrei. She was a commodity; everyone wanted to be with her. Her father let her go off and do whatever she pleased. She was exempt from all laws. Untouchable.
"You seem troubled. Like the news you heard recently brought you down," Everen commented, sliding her leg up, stroking the side of mine. I jerked slightly in my chair, moving it back some. Her eyes ignited, as if she liked the effect she was having on me. I wasn't scared of her, it was just the amount of sex energy she threw off was appalling. No succubus could throw off that much. She was as powerful as an incubus and I hated that.
"I don't think my business is any of your concern," I snapped, frowning. What did this woman want from me?
Everen stood up abruptly, twirling around and then staring back at me. "'Lord of the Flies' always interested me somehow. I know a silly high school book entertaining me sounds funny, but I always wondered, these kids being stuck on this island, how come they never decided to build a boat? But then it occurred to me. These children made this sort of hierarchy within that island of theirs and they were mostly happy with it. There was an order to things. A sick and twisted sense of order. There was also rape in the story. Which many people argue that there wasn't and many people argue that there was. It almost reminds me of our hierarchy now. No one want's to build the boat."
Everen winked at me and then sauntered closer. Her dress flowed towards me and I wanted to walk away from her. Nothing good would come from this. She approached me, sitting on my lap, weighing less than a feather. She leaned against my chest and started to stroke my hair. Her lips were mere inches away from my ear.
"You know, Dominick thinks like the old ages. He does not care about social games. He will take Luxinia back. And he. Will. Break. Her," Everen hissed in my ear.
I flinched, shoving her off my lap. She smirked and stood up, "Dom used to enjoy his time with Luxinia. He loved seeing what made her tick and especially what made her cry for death."
"Why is Bloodtrei resurrecting Dominick?" I snapped, annoyed that I was letting this woman get to me.
"Because he's a powerful Greater Demon. And Bloodtrei is suspicious that Lux is indeed more powerful than she claims. So, if he resurrects Dom, Dom will resume his place as a Greater Demon and take Lux back as his claim, therefore keeping her locked up the way she was," Everen explained, her piercing eyes darting to the door.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked, knowing that having this information had to come at a price.
"Because I like seeing the world burn and I know you and Lux will be the cause of it all." Everen smirked, "Oh, here. If you see Luxinia, give this to her. It'll help protect herself from any incubi." Everen reached up inside her dress and was oddly roaming between her legs. I heard a squishing sound and out came a long glass vial that had red liquid in it.
"What's this?"
"Lux will know."
And in that moment, I knew I had to protect Lux from Dominick.
