Sam's POV

Octavia drew in a sharp breath as Niylah stretched out her injured leg. I gripped onto her hand, helping her through the pain while Athena was held in my other arm.

"Good. Stronger Already." Niylah said. "You'll be running around in no time." As I smiled at Octavia, Niylah looked around the room. "Where are his guards?"

The caused me to look around as well. Ilian laid tied to his bed but his guards to protect him were no where to be found.

"That's enough for now." Niylah released Octavia's leg. "I'll come back soon."

Octavia nodded as Niylah and I both left the room.

Niylah and I entered the lunch room where people of Arkadia were giving speeches about how they should kill Ilian. I know. Poetic.

"And what?" One of the guys asked. "We're supposed to do nothing? He condemned us to death. Now the black rain will eat our skin and the radiation will burn our bodies. All because of him. We did nothing.,"

I leaned over the counter towards Monty. "The guy they're talking about..is in medbay with no protection. Monty, they're gonna kill him." Monty gave me a look before quickly running off.

"We may have a death sentence coming our way soon, but he has one today. Make no mistake, this was a hate crime, so let him feel our hate!" Niylah and I shared a worried glance. "I've worked my fingers bloody getting this ship ready for the radiation. Not for me, but for my son. So I could give my boy my spot. He's 5 and he's gonna die. 5! So, lets go do what we've always done on the Ark. Let's float him for his crime."

Everyone cheered and started to make their way to medbay. I just hoped that Monty and my dad made it before them. I turned to Niylah and handed her Athena, she knew immediately what I need her to do and took Athena back to my quarters.

I followed the crowd until we got inside medbay. My dad held a gun pointed to the leader of this group. I went and stood by his side facing the crowd. Before I could even comprehend what was happening, my dad was getting shocked by Nathan's dad and the leader of the group was throwing my head against a wall until I lost conscience.
