the leaves that were thrown

from the trees in their exile crunched

beneath our freezing feet.

you laughed at me with tears in your eyes

when you see me trip into them.

i pouted at you in attempt to show my

discontented state,

yet i could never help the smile

that dug through the depths of

my soul to reach my reddened face.

your hair was a bright mint color,

a color that shouldn't work on

anyone.

though despite this,

you made it appear as though

all the seas in the world

gathered their

foams together to form the most

celestial color they could show to man,

and wove it through your strands to

accentuate the ethereal means

that you encapsulated.
