So you've written something and you are SUPER excited to share it with someone! *raises hands* Hold up there! Before you go making covers for your book and posting it on here I want to say something.

Putting your work out there is an amazing thing! People get to read and enjoy it 😄! There is also a downside to this, people get to read and comment on it 😬. If you are just starting out, a negative comment can really effect you and effect whether you keep writing.

I do not want you to get hurt. (I really really don't) As a writer there is a nerve racking feeling to putting your work out there. (It's kind like your baby) Like all things there are so many positive and negative things about this. (You need to protect that baby from harm)

(Have I taken this baby analogy too far?)

So this is my word of caution. Before you go gun ho about posting your story maybe have a best friend or someone you trust read it.

This way the first reaction is from someone who loves you and not from a stranger who could just be having a bad day or gets off putting people down.

This isn't to say don't post your work, it's just to say be smart.

I have two books that I would never post in a million years because they were my first and I was learning a lot. I chose to only share it with people that I trust. (It was my sister and with her encouragement I went on to write better books)

There you have it, my two cents on sharing. Either way I hope that you get the wonderful feedback your lovely work of fiction deserves!
