Our favourite Alpha slams open the door and growls. Like actually full grown bear 'rawr I'll rip you apart' growling.
Jake immediately sprints across the room to get as much distance between him and his Alpha.
"Uhmmm... What's up mister Bird?"
I ask hesitantly with a small wave. "What's up, WHAT'S UP?! I'VE KNOWN YOU FOR NOT EVEN A WEEK AND YOU ALREADY CHEATED ON ME! THAT'S WHAT'S UP." He yells, clearly ready to punch another wall.Jake softly speaks up: "Mister Alpha if I may expl--." "NOT another WORD from you." Mister Bird seethes.
That's when I realise I still don't know his actual name. I, too, run across the room and place myself between the two men. I ask mister Bird: "What's your name?" His eyes flicked down to mine, confusion on his face.
He sighs but still responds: "My name's Kit, sweetheart, now could you please step aside." He places his hands on my shoulders to push me out of his way but I stand my ground.
"Okay, 'Kit', here's what happened. My bestie, Jake here, was telling me about his terrible sad past and he showed me his scars, which required him to take his shirt off. Now I'm a simple girl and do appreciate the male physique, so I decided to touch his chest, then you barged in and ruined it for me." I pout and placed my hands on my hips, a bit irritated.
"I think I'm just going to leave." Jake starts to shuffle out of the room as I stare the Alpha down. When Jake stands in the doorway, he turns around again and mouths the word 'sorry' over mister Bird's shoulder. I scoffed and he smiled before sprinting away.
I look back at the Alpha to see him staring straight ahead with his eyes glossed over. What the hell is he doing? I cock my head to the side and wave my hand in front of his face.
Finally he snaps back and catches my wrist before I could slap his cheek in order to get his attention. "What do you think you're doing?" He hissed, but I couldn't answer for a few seconds, mesmerised by those stupid sparks of the bond.
What I did hear him mutter was: "What was the Moon Goddess thinking to set me up with this dumb kid." He shakes his head as if to pity me and my lack of brains according to him. "EXCUSE ME? This 'dumb kid' here, did get into your pack house without any trouble! What were you doing just now anyways? The thing with your eyes."
"It's called mind-linking. An Alpha has it with his pack and mates have a link together when they have completed the mating process. It's like talking in each others heads. My Beta just told me that there is a rogue girl on my land. I have to go check. I'll let Jasper take you to you room."
His eyes glossed over again to tell Jasper to come here. "He'll be here in a few mi--." Jasper stood in the hallway knocking on the open standing door. Even his Alpha was astonished at how he got here so fast. "Where did you come from?" Jasper answered with a shrug and pointed out of the window to the woods.
Okay that is not possible. That should at least have taken him 10 minutes! "I swear to God, this dude is either on steroids or he can teleport." Mister Bird whispers as he walks out of the room. "HEY, I want to go see the girl too!" I yelled after him. "Not happening, little miss rogue!" He taunts as his footsteps soften until they're entirely gone.
I huff out a sigh and jump on Jake's bed. "Soooo... Just you and me again, right buddy?" I turn my attention on the guard. Still remembering our last encounter, he rolls his eyes and picks me up to carry me to my room.
"So I thought that I should let you know that my mum was a very kind lady, who gifted me with TWO WORKING LEGS so that I didn't need to be carried everywhere." I announce to Jasper who made a noise in the back of his throat, that suspiciously sounded like a laugh if you ask me, but kept walking nonetheless.
"Aaarrghhh why are high ranked wolves so goddamn stif?" I left my arms fall on his back, careful not to touch his butt because I'm sure mister Bird would find out somehow.
To my surprise Jasper put me back down and made clear with his eyes that I'd better stay put. He took a step back and took a sprint down the hallway. Now I wished that I had paid attention to my gymnastic classes when I was little because I couldn't name any of the amazing flips he did.
I think he was offended by my remark.
When he finally stood still with both his feet on the ground, I started clapping and hooting. He took a bow and don't think I missed that smile I saw there!
I walked into my room voluntarily because I knew I would end up there anyways. I looked out of my window and saw a groups of warriors circled around mister Bird and I think the rogue girl. By now Jasper was standing outside my door again so he wouldn't stop me if I'd open my window to listen to their conversation.
I faked a yawn and stretched my arms above my head, opening the window in the progress. I gasp, whoops it's open. How convenient, I mean, the weather is lovely today.
No it's not it's raining you idiot.
Oh, she decides to speak again.
Well yeah, you stopped drawling on that boy that isn't our mate. I'm good by the way, thanks for asking.
I roll my eyes at my inner wolf and focus my hearing on mister Bird and the girl. I couldn't hear everything due to the rain but it was obvious that they were arguing. Then I caught one sentence of the girl. "I just want to see my little sister." I froze. 'My little sister.'
A distant memory hit me like a brick in the face.
"Lola what are you doing?" I tensed at the sound of my mums voice. I didn't get any time to get a good luck at her because the image in my head was shifting again. A young girl with long brown hair sat on the ground with a smaller kid, about 3 years younger. "I'm 8 now mommy," the girl said, "I can take care of my little sister."
I came back to reality. "Lola..." I whispered. It was as if the girl could hear me because as soon as the name left my lips, I met a pair of green eyes. The same green eyes as mine, the eyes of my sister.
