I hobble into school the next day. My cuts really hurt, but I tried to ignore it. I glance over at Gene and beckon him over to me.
"Hey Y/N, you okay?" He asks.
"I'm fine." I lie. "Can you just.. not tell Zenix and Sasha about what my dad did? I swear, he was just drunk and wouldn't do it any other time."
Gene nods, "Mhm."
I nod respectfully and walk away, using my crutches for help.
"Wait Y/N!" He lays his hand on my shoulder.
My face turns a shade of red. "H-Hm?"
"About last night.." He turns me around and gets close to my face. Our lips are almost touching.
"W-What about it?"
"I meant what I said." He smirked.
"G-Good t-to know.." I blush.
"So...?" He pulls me closer to him.
I stutter "S-So?"
He smirks and his lips touch mine gently.
HOLY IRENE ODNSKSNODDN..
We pull apart. I glance around the school yard, very self conscious that we just kissed in front of so many people. We aren't even dating.
"Y/N, would you like to be my girlfriend?" He asks, turning my gaze back to him.
I hear Zenix and Sasha behind him shout, "SAY YES!"
I laugh and nod. He hugs me while laughing.
He hugs me too tightly and I fall backwards, beings I can't stand without my crutches. I laugh through the pain.
"I'M SO SORRY Y/N!" Gene says, his voice full of remorse.
He helps me up and keeps apologizing. I laugh and tell him constantly that it's fine.
I feel a cold stare behind me. I turn around and see Garroth.
My face turns red, "G-GARROTH! H-HEY!"
"What the heck Y/N?! You're dating GENE?!" Garroth shouts.
"Yes, now I am."
"WHY?!" He yells.
I mumble, "And I'm the one who makes a scene."
Garroth rolls his eyes. "Really, Y/N?"
"Chill Garroth." I say. "Gene isn't as bad as a guy as you see him as."
"Prove it."
"While you were rudely stalking us, Gene accidentally knocked me over and apologized for practically 5 minutes." I cross my arms.
"Fine, whatever... He may be a good guy.." Garroth sighs. "If you like him, I like him."
I smile, "Thank you."
