It was early. I had got a call from Dr. Whitewood. She said; "I'm sorry for the horrible news. . ."

"Dr. Whitewood, what's wrong?" I asked.

"We did all we could to save your parents. They had been attacked by humans. Your mother and father want to give you a ring and a necklace, special to their pack before." Dr. Whitewood said.

"Oh, no. I'll be right there." I said.

Everyone followed me to Segolia. We visited my parents right in time. I started crying when I saw the bullet holes in their arms and chest. "Raeshel, here." Mom said. Then dad handed me a necklace with a glass wolf and diamond on it. It looked like this:

The ring had a wolf head on it

I them on and Matei helped me put the necklace on. My ansion kicked in and I was able to see what happened to my parent's pack. They were also killed by humans. Freaking hairless bastards with guns. The last words from my parents were; "No matter where you go, whatever you do; just be careful. Depend on your pack. They'll protect you." I started crying even more, then they flat-lined. I will hold these gifts close to me. I will never take them off. When I pass, some day, I'll pass it onto to Vallory and Skai. The jewelry will be passed on through generations.

"Thanks, mom and dad." I sobbed. I crumbled to my knees and everyone gave me a huge hug. We were gonna have the funeral, possibly next week. I can't believe I wasn't there to protect them. They might have called out to me and I didn't hear them. I feel like this is all my fault. Everyone kept telling me that it couldn't possibly be my fault. I didn't believe them for a second.

Everyone was wearing black clothing, which is not unusual for Matei and I. My parents weren't put in coffins. That's unusual for wolfbloods. We only buried them as normal. Once they were both buried, we formed a circle around them and howled. Their souls are now free. Free to roam the forest as spirits. Now I finally understand what Matei and Amelia have to go through every dark moon. We carved out a gravestone for them. "Here lies the greatest wolfbloods to ever live. They fought a good fight. RIP."

I'll be crying for like a month, or even years before I finally get over it. Over a couple months, friends brought over roses to put on their grave. It was next to Matei and Amelia's parents' grave. Life just got a whole lot more depressing. "Hey, it's okay. You'll get over it. I know you're strong. Hey, I know what'll make you feel better." Matei started. "Wolf out?" I asked. "Wolf out." Matei smiled. I smiled too. We ran, once again, into the woods. We wolfed out in the forest for the millionth time. This was the best thing ever. The pack followed us there. It was a full moon, which is the best time to wolf out. We were alone this time. I like being alone and all, it gets more intimate, but I like having the pack around better. We play around a lot more when we're together.

After a while, running around the forest, we walked back home. We went upstairs and slept. The next day, I was still sad about my parents and I will get my revenge on the humans. The rules of the pack don't matter. Losing my  parents to humans causes a burning hate for them. I need to find that shooter. I barged out of the house that morning. Matei started chasing me, but failed to catch up.

"Where could mum possibly be going?" Skai asked Matei.

"I don't know, let me see." Matei said, kneeling down. "She's. . . She's. Oh, no!"

Matei easily tracked me down. As soon as he saw me facing the two gunmen, he ran and tackled them. They tried to aim, but he was too fast. "Stay away from her. Leave, now. You have no right to be here." Matei threatened.

"What are you gonna do if we don't?" One of the hunters asked.

He started growling and he was wolfing out. "What you gonna do now. Do anything but shoot me, or risk going behind bars." He growled.

The two men were frightened and ran into their car and drove away.

"What did you just. . . I was about to get my revenge on them!" I was absolutely inflamed.

"You know the pack rules. No attacking humans. Just because those two killed your parents doesn't mean you have to go out there and attack them." Matei said.

The whole time he was talking to me, I pulled away from him. "Listen, do you want to be sent away or do you want to stay here?" Matei asked.

"Of course I want to stay here, it's just. It hurt hearing about my parents, so bad that it drove me to kill." I said.

"You're so stupid for trying that. If Jana hears about this, you could be in big trouble. It's a good thing I keep secrets to save your tail." Matei said.

After a while of arguing, we walked back home. The kids were happy that I was safe. I told them what I tried to do, and they also called me stupid. Now my whole family is turning on me, great. Oh well, they'll get over it. I was so close to getting those two bastards killed. Matei just had to get in the way. I guess he did for my own safety, blah blah blah. Being a protective husband, that's what he was doing. For that, I'm proud of him. He was there when I was mourning my parents, the birth of my kids, and when I first showed up in Newcastle. I shouldn't be mocking him, I should be thanking him for everything he did. He did lose his parents to the most tragic thing in the entire universe; a fire.
