Kieran had had enough.

Why?

Because he was tired of riddles, man.

He had encountered them more than enough times on Dr Kozak's Test Of Justice, and they had driven him insane.

And the riddle that they were in front of right now did no justice either, as it was really difficult, with neither Kieran or Esperanza knowing the answer to it either.

What the riddle had said?

Here.

Only one colour
But not one size
Stuck at the bottom
But easily flies
Present in sun
But not in rain
Doing no harm and feeling no pain
What is it?

Esperanza just stared at him blankly, asking Kieran if he knew the answer to the question.

He didn't.

And the worst thing was that he had actually seen the riddle before, in Dr Kozak's test, but he didn't seem to know the answer.

Come on, Kieran, think! He thought to himself. You've seen this question before. What was the answer again?

Then he remembered.

After about five minutes, he remembered.

There was no time limit, but they only had one guess. So if they had gotten this answer wrong, then they wouldn't have been allowed at DIE ANNA INCORPORATED for good, and they didn't want that.

The answer to the question was shadow, and after that, the gate had opened.

Although it must have gotten Kieran's and Esperanza's hopes up or something because they weren't actually at DIE ANNA INCORPORATED, they were just in front of a hill leading there.

But they weren't actually there.

"You've got to be kidding me. They're smart though. Knew it was too good to be true," Kieran hissed, trying really hard to get up the hill but failing.

"You OK?" Esperanza barked, looking a little bit concerned after Kieran had tripped over his shoelaces, causing him to fall on the floor.

He didn't know if he was OK to be honest, but despite this he didn't act this way.

He just lied and said that he was fine, before both of them had headed up the hill once and for all.

Even though Esperanza didn't exactly believe Kieran when he had said that he was OK, she didn't say anything much.

She was tired, so was Kieran, she could sense this so she shut up about it.

Kieran and Esperanza were both walking up the hill for a very long amount of time, this being due to Kieran continuously tripping over her shoelaces and Esperanza falling over right behind him.
