Your POV

"I still can't believe we forgot our own anniversary." Hiccup chuckles as we walk to my house. I giggle and nod.

"I feel so stupid." I laugh and shake my head while opening the door of my house. I smile when I see Toothless and d/n cuddled up against each other. I coo softly and pet d/n softly, trying not to wake her up.

We both walk upstairs and change into our pyjamas quickly. I lie down on the bed and sigh, closing my eyes.

"Y/n's diary.." I hear hiccup mumble making me open my eyes and sit up. He's staring at my diary, running his fingers over the cover.

"Have you read it yet?" He asks curiously. I shake my head and pout. I wish I had, but so much has been going on lately.

"I haven't had the time to read it yet. We could read it together if you want." I say

"Are you sure? I mean it's pretty private and stuff.."

"Well, it'll tell me more about my past and I'm sure you're curious about that. Besides, I didn't have huge secrets I think." I chuckle. He nods and grabs the diary, sitting down next to me. I lean my head on his shoulder and open the diary.

On the first page, it said:

This is y/n's diary!! don't read it if your not me! Or else I will send daddy to u!!

Hiccup bursts out laughing and I blush, giggling. Although it's embarrassing, I can't help but laugh at myself.

"How old were you when you wrote this?" He laughs but tries to calm himself down.

"I don't know!" I say and we keep on reading. A lot of stories were just little me being clumsy and they made us laugh a lot. The last few pages had me more interested, because I saw by the handwriting that I was older when I wrote it.

Dear diary,

Yesterday was my 16th birthday! Mom got me a new dress, dad gave me a beautiful necklace and Mary gave me nothing, as usual... anyway, it was really fun, until dad called me to talk about something. He said he really wanted me to become the new chief of Coldlake, and for that I'd have to visit other villages to make a connection.

But after that, he talked about a subject I'm not even ready for: marriage. He said he wanted me to get married to a future chief, so that our villages would have better connections or something. I kinda stopped listening after he said the word 'marriage'. Why do I have to marry someone I don't even know? I want to make my own decisions. If I don't love someone, I don't want to be with them, if I do love them, I want to be with them!

My mother said that I'll get used to him and we'll get feelings for each other slowly but still, I don't like this.

I'm gonna try to get myself out of this though, I don't want to get married to someone I never met.

Oh, and I went exploring today, and guess what I saw. A NIGHT FURY. IVE NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE. IT WAS SO AMAZING OH MY THOR.

He had these beautiful green eyes that were literally digging into my soul, and we just stood there staring at each other. He didn't hurt me at all, which is surprising. My dad always told me that if I ever saw a nightfury I should run and never look back.

But he also thought dragons were dangerous, and he was wrong about that.. Violet and I are great friends, she's the cutest gronckle you'll ever see!

Anyway, about that nightfury, I think he had a rider!! He had this thing on his tail, I think it was because a part of it was gone, and there was a saddle on him.

I think I saw the rider, but I got a little scared when he called for his dragon and ran away, hehe... really smart of me, so I didn't get to talk to him.

Whoever he was, he must be really good with dragons, because nightfuries are hard to tame!!

"Wait, is this about Toothless and I?" Hiccup asks.

"Well, I don't know any other Night Fury besides d/n and she still has her whole tail, so I guess..." this is weird. Hiccup and I have kinda almost met before but I can't remember it..

"I think I remember seeing you run but I'm not sure.." my eyes widen and I look at him.

"Really?" He nodded.

"I didn't question it or call you because I was really busy that day and had a billion things on my mind. But now that I think about it, I think it was you.."

"That's uh... weird?" I say and frown. THIS IS ALL SO CONFUSING!

"Yeah, kinda is." I nod and before I can say anything, I yawn softly.

"I think we should sleep, it's pretty late now." Hiccup says and I nod sleepily, putting the diary on the nightstand. I lay down and cuddle up against Hiccup, sighing happily.

"I really missed you." I whisper softly and grab his hand, squeezing it softly.

"I missed you too, princess." He whispers back and kisses the top of my head, causing me to smile. Hiccup always manages to put a smile on my face no matter what.

"Y/n?"

"Hmm?" I respond, my eyes still closed.

"I'm really sorry that I didn't get you a gift for our anni-"

"Hiccup, you did get me a gift! You're here with me, that's the best present ever." I interrupt him and look up at him. He smiles and kisses my lips shortly, making the butterflies in my stomachs go crazy.

"I love you so much." I smile widely and kiss his cheek before putting my head on his chest again.

"I love you too."

Soooo, this book is almost over guys! I'm gonna publish an epilogue, and after that it's done! Then I'll upload a new story. I'm not quite sure what story yet, since I've got like 40 unpublished stories 0-0. No I didn't write that wrong, 40 stories! I have a few that are my favourites but it's still hard to choose! I promise it'll be an x reader! Maybe not hiccup, but definitely an other character!

Anddd I've said this before but school is starting tomorrow, and my schedule is busy so I'll have less time to update sorry!
