Chapter 17

Vinyl's POV
I ran to my house as quickly as I could and immediately heard the sound of sirens. I ran and saw my house in flames. "Where's lil DJ!" I said running to the firemen. "Where's my dog!" I asked. The fireman looked at me. "What dog?" He asked.

My eyes widened and I ran in the flaming house. "Vinyl!" Octavia yelled as I ran in. Instantly I felt smoke enter my lungs. "Lil DJ!" I screamed. Nothing. I ran to every room looking for the dog. I spotted a small patch of fur and ran over. I picked up lil DJ. "You'll be ok." I said running out of the burning house.

I carried lil DJ to the firefighters and they took him. Octavia ran up. "Are you ok?" She asked in a panicked voice. I smiled. "Tavi I'm fi-" I stopped. I began to have trouble breathing. I couldn't breathe. Octavia saw this and called the firefighters.

They grabbed me and rushed me to an ambulance. I then blacked out. When I woke up I was lying in a hospital bed. "W-What happened?" I asked. I saw Octavia. She saw me awake and walked over. "You blacked out." She whispered. I looked out the window and saw it was dark out.

"You need to rest." Octavia said. I held her hand. "Lay with me." I said. Octavia looked at me. "Are you sure I can?" She asked. I chuckled and pulled her onto the bed. I hugged her and laid my head on her chest. "I'm sorry if I scared you." I whispered.

Octavia played with my hair. "It's fine. You were really brave." Octavia said. I smiled and kissed her cheek. I was about to say something when I yawned. "I'm going to sleep." I mumbled before closing my eyes.

Sophie's POV
"I can't believe that mutt bit me!" Chelsea said holding her arm. Sophie chuckled. "Don't worry, it probably died in the fire." I said. Chelsea looked at me. "That's dark." She said. I scoffed. "You want to hear something dark?" I said. Chelsea slowly nodded.

I scooted over to her. "I know who killed Vinyl's parents." I whispered. Chelsea raised an eyebrow. "Who?" She asked. I smirked. "My-" suddenly my door opened. I looked over and saw Samuel. "Hey Sam." I said. He nodded and sat on my bed.

"Have you done it yet?" I asked. Samuel shook his head. "The guy just doesn't trust me." Samuel said angrily. I scowled. "Gain his trust now. We need Jonathan for our next plan." I said angrily.

Octavia's POV
I laid there with Vinyl and smiled. Vinyl groaned and opened her eyes. "I can't sleep." She whispered. I smiled. "I'll sing for you." I said. Vinyl held my hand. I breathed in and began to sing.

The other night dear, as I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms
But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken
So I hung my head and I cried.

I looked down and saw Vinyl smiling at me. I leaned down and kissed her cheek before continuing the song.

I stopped and saw that Vinyl had fallen asleep. I smiled before I closed my eyes.
