Jet lagged

I ignored Jay for so long that I actually ended up falling asleep. I open my eyes slowly and try to look around for any indication of time. All I see from the window is a constant fluffy white texture which lets me know we are still up in the air. I look to my right and instead of Jay, I see Meg.

Ugh, thank God.

"Morning sunshine" she says with a smirk

"Hey.. what time is it?" I ask a bit confused

"Um.. 5.40pm"

"Is that... late? Um.. I don't even know how long we've been flying" I continue to be confused which seems to have amused her

"It's been like 9 hours, we're landing pretty soon"

"Oh.." I nod my head in agreement, but truly I didn't even hear her answer and instead I'm taking a few big gulps of water to regain some energy

"Hey, listen, what are you gonna do about Jay?" she turns to me and whispers

"What?! Nothing!.. What?!" I ask all shocked

"Girl stop"

"What?"

"The coast is clear now... and Jay knows that" she winks at me

"What do you mean?" I ask and squint my eyes at her

Meg stays silent and looks all around her as if she's trying to avoid eye contact

"Meg...! Did you tell him Josh and I are on a break?!"

"Oh, no! No, no... I told him y'all broke up" she says casually making my head snap at her

"You did what?! Why would you even say that? Meg!"

"Oh come on! I'm doing you a favor!"

"Oh my God I can't believe you" I say sounding truly annoyed

She stays silent for a few seconds before speaking again.

"I'm just playing" she confesses and starts giggling like an insane person

I turn to her and squint my eyes.

This little bitch...!

"You scared me" I say closing my eyes in relief before letting out a forgiving laugh

"Look, I just think you should tell him! Simon and I are hitting it off, come on, how awesome would it be if we could go on double dates?!" she's way too exited

"Oh so you had an ulterior motive this whole time huh..." I sass her

"Yes, but also I really think you'd be great together"

My eyes falls to the ground. I can't say I haven't thought about it. Being with Jay would probably be full of fun and playful moments. But that's not enough for me to throw it all away and be with him. At the end of the day, he's still a non-committing man slut. At least that's what he portrays himself as.

"Look. I'm not pressuring you, neither do I think you should jump into this. I'm just saying... a little fun would be good for you. I know we don't know each other that well but I can tell you're not happy... and Jay is smart. He knows that too." Meg speaks with a soft voice

I guess she's right. I know Jay is right. At the end of the day, I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just having fun with my coworkers. Plus, Josh and I are on a break. This will be a good chance to test the waters and see how my life would be as a free woman.

"You know what..? You right" I say with a confident smile and nodding my head positively

Meg gives me a confused look.
