Mae POV
Mae stood at his front door. It looked like every other house in the town. Red door, and a peephole. The house itself, however, was a whole different story. The paint was cracked and was a color that Mae couldn't describe, a mushroomish yellow hue. She knocked on the door and was responded to by 3 angry barks from the other side of the door, accompanied by loud crashing noises that sounded like the kitchen was crumbling. Then there were heavy footsteps, and finally, somebody opened the door. The resident looked tired, with dark circles under his eyes, and his hair was messy and undone. His voice came out slow and deep. "What do you want?" He then narrowed his eyes. "Wait.." He said. "Are you that girl that Casey was talking about?" Mae couldn't help but blush. Was he talking about her. "Yes?" She responded slowly, trying not to say anything offensive, because of the fact that man looked like he could rip her head off any minute. "Hmmph." The man grunted. "Come inside."
