Yuu woke up without Mika besides him...he assumed he was up early and by now he'd be eating breakfast (or more like watching the others eat) downstairs...he had no obligation to wait for Yuu to wake up after all...

So, Yuu went downstairs to find him but the only one he found in his place was ,unfortunately, shinoa..he braced himself and asked

"Shinoa do you know where Mika is?"

"looking for your boyfriend?" asked Shinoa with a smirk on her face

"why did I even bother..."

At that moment Mitsuba and Yoichi entered the room

"Ah thank god, sane people!" Yuu shouted excitedly, "Mitsuba do you happen know where Mika is?" he asked

"Mika-san?"

"Ah I think he went to visit your family" interrupted Yoichi

"Thank you so much Yoichi I'm going there now!!" replied Yuu and stormed off

He descended the stairs to Ferid's basement mentally preparing himself for the sight of the corpses of his dead family...he stood at the entrance and saw Mika in front of Akane, his hand touching the class separating them

"I'm so sorry" Mika told her, "it's all my fault you are like this, I'm so so sorry"

"Truth is I don't want you to be resurrected...it could mess up the whole world...but can I also be a little bit selfish and hope Guren will succeed just in order to see you once more?" Mika didn't expect an answer but surprisingly he did feel better after taking to her

"Although I want to see you, talk to you so so much I'm also kind of afraid...because you might not recognise me or worst be scared of me or hate me...i don't think I could live after that so please akane- please don't hate me..." Mika said as he touched his forehead on the glass over akane's, a single tear rolling down his face

"Mika..." whispered Yuu low enough a human could not hear him...but Mika had vampire hearing so of course he heard, how could Yuu forget?

Mika turned around whipping the tear off his face

"Yuu-chan I'm sorry i didn't know you were there" he said with a smile

another fake smile, Yuu thought...why wouldn't Mika show his true self to Yuu, why did Mika care about others so much -more than himself- after seeing just how shit the world can be...Yes Mika now couldn't trust anyone like he did back then but he still cares so much

"Mika...you don't have to pretend around me you know"

"I know...i just...don't want to be more of a burden to anyone than I'm already being...you already have to have a vampire around, you don't want a depressed vampire who you have to make happy, too"

"ok but for someone so smart I didn't know how UTTERLY STUPID YOU COULD GET!" Yuu shouted, "honestly how could you even think Akane and the kids of all people would hate you?"

"it's just hypothetical anyway it's not like we're actually gonna ressurect them"

no answer

"...right Yuu?" asked Mika hesitantly

still no answer

"ugh then you call ME stupid..you know this could end the world don't you?"

"yeah but you yoursef said you wanted to see them again just a minute ago"

"yeah but that was me being selfish Yuu!"

"so what's wrong with being a little selfish sometimes? We deserve happiness too you know" argued Yuu

"a LITTLE selfish? You call destroying the whole world and killing more than half the population being a little selfish?? Honestly what's going through your mind?" Mika argued back

"I told you before and I'm telling you again...I don't care about the world if it means getting my family back"

"Yuu-chan!!" Mika wanted to argue more but decided to let it go for the sake of the bond he and Yuu-chan shared -and honestly Mika knew exactly how Yuu felt, "you know what? It will be non of my business in 2 weeks from now -no in 13 days- so you can do whatever you want"

"You...you call resurrecting our family none of your business?" Yuu said looking very hurt

"You're precisely right so do whatever you want", ...he'd get over it Mika thought and turned around to leave.
Before he took another step Yuu grabbed his hand

while looking down he said,
"you don't really mean that do you?"

no reply

"Mika?"

"no..i don't..." he heard Mika say in low volume, "but let me pretend for a little bit will you? 'Cause maybe then it won't hurt so much"

Mika started walking towards the exit again but while he was ascending the stairs Yuu asked, "are you leaving because of me?" but there was no answer...

Mika left the basement leaving a confused Yuu behind...Why did Mika want to leave if it was hurting him
-both of them- that much?

too bad he didn't hear Mika quietly reply,"yes..." to his question before he left

yet another short chapter but considering i uploaded it in the same day (no in the same 1 hour) as the previous one just count it as one average sized chapter...dont worry Mikayuu will rise in the end but until then...quietly suffer
(I don't know why they won't just  admit what they truly feel for each other already but...sometimes the author suffers too😂😂)

no Kimizuki this chapter unfortunately but I'm gonna write them next chapter...I honestly love the squad sm, I really love them all although you can't really see that in my writing I barely mention them at all😂 THE SQUAD WILL APPEAR NEXT CHAPTER I promise
