It had been difficult to get used to the new environment, for (M/N) especially. Draco of course had picked up on the change of his friends behaviour, although brushed it off as (M/N) simply being mad about what had happened earlier.

And it's true, he had been mad, but that wasn't really what was bothering the Silvertongue heir.

The Slytherin common room, as well as their rooms were all located in the basement. How could, what in (M/N)'s eyes was the most powerful house to ever stand at Hogwarts, be located in the basement. At first he was sure it would be dirty and after seeing who he'd be rooming with he was sure the next seven years would be a true nightmare.

Draco had been a mess from day one and as Crabbe and Goyle seemed to have waisted the last of their brain activity on their classes, (M/N) couldn't help but doubt they'd figure out how to do their laundry throughout the years.

In reality (M/N) had hoped to be sorted with someone like Blaise Zabini. The male didn't say much and Mrs. Zabini had been at the Silvertongue manner multiple times for tea. Just my studying his mother a few times as a young boy, (M/N) could tell Blaise wouldn't have been a bothersome roommate. Yet fate had it otherwise.

It hadn't taken taken any of (M/N)'s roommates long to clutter their parts of the room, thereby earning themselves a scolding by the (Blonde, Brunette, Ravenette, Ginger, Crimsonette..) Silvertongue, as well as the prefect (M/N) had complained to. Needles to say, both Vincent and Gregory were rather tired of their new roommate.

Just like Draco was. Although compared to the others, Draco already knew when to not complain about his friends behaviour.

(M/N) had decided to clean his side, keeping everything in nice space, everything very tightly so he could get down to the real matter that he was pushing off by complaining to his roommates.

And there it was. The empty piece of parchment in the middle of the table. (M/N) knew he couldn't avoid it for any longer and after banishing Draco, Vincent and Gregory to the common room, he sat down with a brief groan.

He had been pushing it off all night and as the day only came faster and faster to an end, (M/N) knew he'd have to try and at least write something.

'Dearest Mother and Father.

As you know, I have by now settled perfectly fine in the new Slytherin rooms. Although I must admit I was rather surprised to find the Slytherin common room in the dungeons of Hogwarts. Truly that must have been a mistake? The most honourable house in all of Hogwarts is located in the dungeons. I can't hide that I'm a tad disappointed, nor will I. I hope that isn't too bothersome for you, my dear parents. And even though my roommates are slacking on their cleaning I can assure you I will make sure mine is set to the same standards as at home. Which is why Vincent, Gregory and Draco are currently all banished to the common room so I can both clean and write my letter in peace. I can't help but wonder how they can comprehend being so awfully loud all the time..

Today we went flying on brooms for the first time. Of course it wasn't a first for me nor Draco, but I made sure the both of us kept our manners and weren't rude to the other students.

I have tried making friends with the Potter boy, although after Draco's rather rude introduction and me having to defend him, I'm most likely to believe that we won't find ourselves the best of friends in the near future.

My apologies for that, Father. I have taken a talk with Draco and I can assure you it won't happen again.

Speaking of Draco, he got himself in trouble once again today. A boy from our class lost his remembrall and Draco got in the air after our teacher madam Hootch had gone with the poor boy to the hospital wing. He then-'

(M/N) moved his feather away from the parchment, sighing softly. "I promised Draco not to.." He muttered slightly as he leaned to his book bag and found himself a fresh piece of parchment. After making the necessary changes, (M/N) picked the feather up once again, starting to write, taking a deep breath as he started.

I miss you both and as I'm sure you know I will do my utmost to please you all at home. As I cannot keep my roommates out forever, I will have to cut this letter short.

I'll make you proud.

The best of wishes, your son.'

(M/N) sighed slightly as he looked down at the almost full piece of parchment. He had practiced his writing since he was young, so he was sure his parents would have no trouble reading it. Yet he couldn't help but be slightly worried as he handed the letter to his owl, sending it off.

"Pst.. Pssst!" Could be heard throughout the dark room, the sound of Draco's barely audible voice being the only thing filling the room. Vincent and Gregory were long asleep and at the moment Draco was trying to figure out of (M/N) had fallen asleep as well. Of course he hadn't, the boy full of worry couldn't even close an eye, barely even ate at dinner. A bit of shuffling could be heard and within no time Draco was out of bed, standing at (M/N)'s bedside, glaring down at said boy with an expression that could belong to a kicked puppy.

Draco could be seen biting his lip as he did did his best to straighten his pyjamas, (M/N) therefor looking up, still slightly confused. "I'm homesick and I can't sleep," Draco stated in a serious yet very tired tone.

The slightly older male nodded a bit and got out of his bed. "Go lay down then.. You better fall asleep quickly," He demanded with a brief smile, caused by Draco's expression.

Draco had hummed a bit and within no time the male appeared to have found his way back to his bed where (M/N) was hesitantly pulling the covers over Draco. "This is a one time thing, Draco. I'm not your mother," He warned again, Draco simply humming, not truly listening as he cuddled his pillow and slowly started drifting off.

Letting out a small sigh, (M/N) briefly rubbed the others head, liking the feeling of Draco's hair against his palm. It was rather soothing. Although as he bumped into one of the nightstands and Vincent started stirring, he couldn't take the chance by continuing his actions and instead slipped back into bed, whining internally as he cuddled up to his pillow, still wide awake.

God, this was going to be a long night..
