11:05 PM

I looked over and smiled as I saw Liza and David dancing in the frame of her phone, the flash as bright as can be. It was less than an hour until David would be 21.

21st birthday...

I shook my head so I wouldn't think about it. I can't ruin the night now, not after what Corinna told me. I should be happy for David and I have to be there for him. It's his night.

I looked around the table at all of the happy souls. Scotty and Todd are casually throwing pieces of napkin at Jason from across the table, hitting him in the ear every time they throw.

"Ow! Hey, quit it you two," Jason hissed from across the table, the guys laughed in reply and made me quietly giggle to myself. I looked over at Zane and Heath, wine glass in hand as they simply talked to one another.

I looked around again. They were the only ones that seemed semi normal, so I walked to them. I lightly sat my arm on Zane's shoulder, weaseling my way into their conversation.

"'Sup my dudes," I said, looking at them both and gently scuffling Zane's pink beard. I feel deep down in my heart that Zane never really did forgive me for kicking him the stomach. If he hasn't, then he isn't showing that grudge to the rest of us.

"Hey Rowan," Zane chuckled and looked me up and down. "I saw Liza's photo of you earlier but damn girl. You of all people wearing a dress," he asked and I nodded and looked at him with wide eyes. I was surprised myself. I don't hate dresses, I just personally feel that they're too complicated for me to wear.

"I know I know. It's like seeing a dog walk on it's hind legs or something," I exclaimed, they both laughed at my comparison. "What are you laughing at, bubblegum beard?"

Heath bursted out laughing even harder while Zane just pursed his lips at me.

"Oh whatever girl, keep flaunting your body so David can see how sexy you are," he playfully rolled his eyes and my face flushed from color.

"So I guess Corinna was right. It really is that obvious huh?"

"Well, what's even more obvious is how hard he tries with you, but you didn't hear that from us little lady," Heath mumbled before taking another sip from his glass. Zane nodded before doing the same.

I smiled at them a little before walking past them slowly.

"I know you think we're joking Rowan but we're not. David wants to eat that booty like groceries, know what I'm sayin'," Zane wiggles his eyebrows towards me and that only made me walk faster away from them. I could hear Heath laughing from behind me as my face burned beyond belief.

11:58 PM

At this point in the night, I finally had my first round of shots.

I wasn't what you would call drunk, but I wasn't sober either. I still knew what was going on around me, yes, but was I completely in control of myself? Not 100%.

I sat between Gabbie and Liza as the commotion around us began to increase as the minutes turned into seconds until midnight.

"Happy birthday to you..."

Everyone began to scream(not sing, we're not normal in case you couldn't already tell) the happy birthday song in David's direction once we were fifteen seconds away. People began bringing sparklers and candles over, edging the newly 21 year old to blow it out.

"Happy birthday dear David, happy birthday to you!"

Everyone cheered as he blowed out the candles, me as well. I smiled wide as I watched him smile wide, the guys surrounding him and giving him hard pats on the back and congratulating him.
