Dean was gone. Emilie was sitting next to me, crying. An organ was being played.
"And, sadly, we said goodbye to Dean Umbrik three months ago, during the Battle Despair."
I started tuning out the priest.
"And here is Chris Umbrik, Dean's brother, to give us a few words from the heart."
I walked up to the altar and pulled out my script.
"Ahem...My brother was a great man. He had a great wife, a great family, a-" There was a crack in the background.
"What was that?"
"Did anyone else hear that?"
"HOLY CRAP!"
I started talking again.
"During the Battle Despair, Dean was brave. He risked his life for his family, and lost it because of a psycho."
There was a slight chattering among the crowd.
"The Prism, the special suit used in the Battle Despair, was destroyed in the intense heat...erm...thank you."
I walked back to my seat, and before we knew it, it was time for the statue to be revealed. See, Dean had been deemed a hero, and the city had decided to create a statue of him in Frai City Park......
"It really is something, isn't it?" I heard someone ask me. I turned around and saw a woman, around twenty, standing there.
"It really is..." I replied.
We kept talking for a while when she got a text.
"Aw, crap, I gotta go. The name's Stacy Bolt. And you're Chris Umbrik."
She handed me a slip of paper and walked away.
I look down, and there's a phone number on the paper.Three years later
Music was playing in the background. I was in paradise, with the one true love of my life...
"Chris, are you listening to me?" Kevin said from in front of me.
"Come on, we have to practice."The music was playing again. This time, I knew I wasn't daydreaming. This was real.
"You may now kiss the bride."
And that kiss lasted forever...
I was dancing with Stacy. She was in a white dress, and everything was perfect. We pulled away from each other and I heard someone yell,
"Chris!"
"Kev! My best man!" I started walking towards Kevin, my friend since... really, the start of my life.
"Chris, you've got something on your face!" He slapped me.
"Is it gone?"
"Yup."
I turned around and saw Emilie walking towards me.
"Good job Chris!" She slapped me on the back. "Now don't go and die like Dean."
I felt a something hit my arm before I blacked out.A man, if you could call him that, was standing above the cathedral holding a dart rifle. He chuckled before raising a prosthetic hand and pressing a button, causing a black suit to jump onto him.
It had a bladed helmet, and a grey jetpack.
He laughed before flying off, firing a firecracker that exploded to say Blix.481 words!
