D & P Chapter 8

>> REIZO

It was nearing graduation, we were almost turning 12 graders, but before that, we have to prepare for a presentation, and it said that I was the lead singer. I was going to sing a love song from my choice, and I picked " Let Her Go " , Turai was going to be my co-singer, she will accompany me through singing. Although I wanted to be partnered with Yuuki, because I haven't heard her voice for years.

Turai waved at me and smiled, " Reizo! Do you plan on practicing at home again? "

I smiled back at her and yelled, " Yeah! Its much more peaceful there. "

Turai nodded and closed the door, " Goodluck buddy. "

I practiced and practiced my song, I also played the guitar for hours, and I had beein thinking what coukd happen during summer break. I played the clarinet and also the bass, I tried singing and it worked out well, I was just used to singing in moderato tones, well, my song is not a moderato. Turai also sang well, less than 1 percent from Yuuki's; As far as I can remember.

As soon as I finished with practice, I bumped into my friend Mako, " Long time no see. "

Mako smiled back as me at he rubbed my head, messing my hair, " Yo. Missed me? "

I hit him softly by the shoulder, " Nah. I don't like your sweat. "

" Whatever dude. " he continued, " What about that Yuuki? I heard you're going out with another girl. "

" No I'm not, and whoever that girl is, its not true. " I crossed my arms as I continued walking.

" Fine, fine. I'm not gonna make you worse. " Mako said with a bored expression, he was just whistling.

As I reached my house, I contacted Yuuki immediatly and she was pleased by the part that I was going to be in a song number, and it was also important. She cheered me on and thats what made me confident about being able to pass this practice and don't let her down! This is my chance to know her true feelings about me, is it a one-sided love, or a mutual love? I just hope we feel the same.

The next day...

It was the last day of practice, me and Turai have been taking the free time practicing since this event is really something. But, the problem is the I haven't seen Yuuki for a while, and I don't know what she's up to, but I saw her once talking to Turai, so I bet she'd okay.

" Woah, that was an amazing turn-out, great job. " Turai said clapping while I was taking a sip of water.

" Yeah, thanks. " I said as I looked out.

" Eh? Are you still thinking about Yuuki at a time like this?? She's fine. " Turai said plainly.

" Yeah... " I looked back, " I guess she is. " I said nodding and smiling.

" I've noticed it a little... " Turai said, " You're not practicing at home are you? "

" I am, just a bit. " I said moving my shoulder slowly.

" Hm.. how long? " Turai said crossing her arms and tapping her foot.

" For less than an hour, how should I know? " I said sighing and turning around, " I better go. "

" Okay then, better not slack off. " Turai said patting my shoulder then pushing me away.

I went out to get some fresh air, and I thought about what would happen next if this were all over, I know what I'm thinking of is nonsense, but I just... I don't even know. As I got up, I saw Yuuki standing next to me, she was wearing her old red headband that she used to wear back then, and she was smiling at me, I smiled back as I stood firm infront her, this could be my chance.

" Yuuki... " My voice trailed off, " I... I really... "

" Hm? " She rose up her head as we faced each other, I blushed a little and thought about it again.

" Nevermind! " I think this is not the time.

" Haha okay. " Yuuki said, " I'm going to see you perform Reizo. "

" Huh? " My eyes widen, " Sure, since you haven't heard me for a while now right? "

" Hmm.. seems like that. I hope you give your best! " She put her hand on my chest and smiled.

>> YUUKI

As I left Reizo standing there, I couldn't help but feel excited about his performance, since I haven't heard him play like... forever! I'm sure that something new is going to happen tomorrow, I just know that something will. I walked in the school hall like I always do, and I bumped into Turai, she told me all about her and Reizo performing on a stage for a special number, but she didn't tell me about the song though.

Turai smiled at me as her arm leaned on my shoulder, " Yuuki, I hope you'll like it. "

I nodded and smiled back, " Sure, I will! "

As I got home, I immediatly got into bed and thoug about tomorrow, I know that day is goi to be a total excitement event. Mhmm... I'll hear Reizo play again, like the old days.
