Really?! pt.2

I can't take this anymore. I just ignore him. I think he noticed me, but I'm not sure. Oh wait, he definitely noticed me. He's walking over here. Right now.

"Hey Conner!" He said. Conner stood up and they bro hugged. He used Conner as an excuse to come over here. That's low Summerall, that's low.

"Hey guys" he said facing Lexi, Jayden and I. He was looking at me the whole time while saying that. I rolled my eyes.

"Hey Hayden! How's it been?" Lexi asked sipping a drink out of her red solo cup. "It's been okay. Not the greatest." He said with a sad tone in his voice. He was talking about me. I already know it.

"So Hayden, wanna go beat some guys in arm wrestling over there?" Conner said gesturing Hayden to the other table where some teenage boys were arm wrestling. It reminded me of the time where Hayden wouldn't listen at the rodeo.

Hayden glanced at me real quick and smirked. "Yeah sure. Let's go." He knew that I was thinking of the rodeo. This kid is too much. "Be careful Conner!" Jayden said standing up with Hayden and Conner. Conner kissed Jayden's cheek. "Don't worry, I will." He said. Jayden blushed. They are so cute!

"Come on Anns! Let's go watch them! Lexi said pulling my arm. "Yeah Annie!" Jayden said backing Lexi up. "No I'm good. You guys can go watch." I said looking up at them. "Please! I wanna watch them arm wrestle! And we are definitely not letting you sit by yourself at a party." Jayden said. "Ugh! Fine!" I said standing up. Lexi and Jayden high five.

We walk over to the table with all teenage boys. Currently, 2 boys were arm wrestling and others were chanting. The boy with the dirty blonde hair won. Half of the people cheered.

"Alright, now let's have Hayden against Joey!" One person said. Everyone was agreeing. Hayden sat down across the Joey kid. Hayden pulled up just sleeve to reveal his muscles. Whatever. He smirked at me. I rolled my eyes. His smirks are cute. No there not! Stop it!

"Go Hayden!" Conner was cheering. Hayden was winning. No surprise there. Hayden beat Joey. Most of the boys cheered. And they went on and on.

Lexi, Jayden and I were watching more people go. It actually wasn't as boring as I thought. "Hey" someone said. I looked to my side to see a kid around my age. "Oh, hi" I said. "So are you routing for?" he said leaning against the wall.

"Um no one in particular." I said. "Cool" he replied we continued watching until he spoke up again. "So are you single?" He asked. "Do I look single?" I said with a small laugh. "Well, someone pretty as yourself, probably not single." He said. I laughed it off.

I got bored so I wondered off outside. There were very few people outside. Perfect. I took a deep breathe and let it out. I looked at the stars.

Soon enough I was the only one outside. I started to think about my heart locket as I was playing with it. Aunt Melissa said to put a picture of someone in here that truly loves me. And I love them back. "Hey." I heard someone say. I turn around and see Hayden leaning his back on the slide door.

"Move. I need to get in." I said. "Annie, let me explain. Please." He said with a sad tone in his voice. To be honest, I do want to hear an explanation. But, I'm going to be hurt. "Hayden, please. Let me through." I said trying to hold back my tears.

"Julianna, please let me explain. I need a chance, please." "Hayden not now. I can't do this. Please." I said biting my lip. "I'll be waiting for you as long as it takes. I'll wait for you." He said moving out the way. I walked inside with tears streaming down my face.

I ran outside to the front of Jayden's house. I ringed up Paige.

Paige- Annie?
Annie- P-Paige? Ca-Can you pick me up?
Paige- Annie?! What happened?! Are you okay?! Where are you?!
Annie- Paige, I'm at Jayden's. can you p-please pick me up
Paige- yes of course I'm on my way

I wiped the tears off my face. I need a break from everything right now.

Paige came and picked me up. I explained everything to her. We picked up ice cream on the way back home.

Once we reached home, I changed into my pjs and so did Paige. Paige ordered us pizza. We snuggled up on the couch. Paige was sitting on one side, while I was on the other. We watched Netflix and ate our ice cream. What would I ever do without Paige.

My phone started ringing. It was Hayden. I rolled my eyes and ignored it.

It rang a second time. "Who is it?" Paige asked looking over at my phone. "Oh, its Lexi. One sec." I can't believe I just lied about that. Paige nodded and I went out to the balcony.

Annie- Hayden? What do you want.
?- Um this isn't Hayden. My names Jace.
Annie- Um why do you have Hayden's phone?
Jace- Um well, Hayden came to the bar and got in a fight. Plus he's drunk. This was the only contact in his favorites list so I called it. Do you think you can pick him up?
Annie- oh my god. yeah I'll pick him up. what's the address?
Jace- it's *gives address*
Annie- okay I'll be on my way. can you please keep him with you until I get there?
Jace- yeah no problem.
Annie- okay thank you.

Great! I have to pick up Hayden from this mess! He had me under his favorites. Shut up Annie! How am I going to explain this to Paige? I sigh and groan. I walk inside and Paige is still watching the movie. "Paige? Can I go out real quick. I need to grab something from Lexi. She uh, had my jacket in her car." Man I'm a horrible lier. "Can't you get it tomorrow?" She asked. "Please Paige! I'll be back soon." I said. "Okay fine. Be safe." She said. Thank goodness.

I quickly changed into some jeans and a hoodie. I put on white converse and grab my phone and car keys. I drive to the bar place. As I was pulling up, I could see Jace giving Hayden support standing up. I parked and quickly got out of the car and ran to Jace and Hayden.

"Omg. Thank you so much." I said to Jace as I was taking Hayden from him. I put Hayden's arm around my shoulder and I put my arm around his waist. "No problem. Are you his girlfriend?" He asked me. "No, I'm his ex." I said. His eyes got wide. "Oh I'm sorry for asking." "No no, it's fine." I said with a smile. "Annie? Annie is that you?" Hayden said all drowsy. "Yes Hayden." I said

"Oh and um, he got in a fight. He has a bloody lip." Jace explained. "Oh okay." I said. I thanked Jace again and carefully put Hayden into the passenger seat. I'm having so many regrets and thoughts. "Annie, wanna know why I got in that fight?" Hayden said, breathing heavily. "Why?" I said driving to Hayden's house. "Because, some guy was talking sh-" I covered his mouth with one hand before he could say the word. "Hayden, don't curse" I said while driving with one hand. That's right, I can drive with one hand.

What's wrong with Hayden? Before the break up, he didn't curse, he didn't drink, and he didn't usually get into so many fights. Why?

We pulled up to his driveway and I helped Hayden out of the car. I rang the doorbell. No one answered. "Hayden, where's your car keys?" I asked. He got them out of his pocket and handed them to me. I unlocked the door. And turned on the lights. I guess no ones home. Great.

I put Hayden on the couch. This reminded me of the time Hayden fought for me against the guy that was messing with me at the party. I shook off those thoughts. I got a wet rag and walked over to Hayden. I sat down in a chair next to him and wiped off the blood on his lip.

"Annie?" "Yes Hayden." "Why are you helping me?" He said tired. "Because your hurt" "I thought you hate me." "I don't hate you Hayden." I said. "So you like me?" "I don't like you. I just don't hate you." I said a little unsure of myself. He nodded and closed his eyes. "I love you Julianna. And I mean it." He said drifting off asleep. He's drunk. He's probably going to wake up tomorrow not knowing what he said. I walked back to the kitchen and put the rag away.

When I did that, I heard the door open. I got scared. "Hayden? You home?" The voice said. Immediately knew that voice. Hunter. I walk out of the kitchen. Hunter notices me. He gives me a confused, then happy look. "Annie!" He says putting his arms out for a hug. "Hunter!" I go and hug him.

"What are you doing here?" He asked releasing from the hug. I explain everything to him. "Wow." He said. "Yeah I know. Well, since you're here now, I'm going to leave" I said "Annie," he said. "Yeah?" "Thank you." He said and I smiled. "Anytime." He smiled back and I hopped into my car. I drove back home thinking of Hayden.
