Well that trip turned out to be a disaster! I so wanted to show Sorin around where I was from. We wasted a lot of time and it was nearing the end of the afternoon. I had completely forgot I was supposed to meet Ronin at the art exhibit this afternoon. I asked Sorin to take me there after I had a chance to finally eat. I figured Ronin would be long gone, but I was interested to see it anyway.

We arrived at the exhibit entrance and it was still really busy. Everyone was out on the town again tonight. Sorin went to get our tickets and I waited in line.

"Nicole!" I heard someone shout my name.

I looked all around and then I finally spotted him. Ronin was just leaving the exhibit.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't here earlier!" I apologized. "Something came up and I totally forgot."

"It is no problem, do not worry. Will you be attending the ball?" Ronin asked.

"I'm not sure." Sorin hadn't really said much about it.

"If you do, save a dance for me!" He continued to walk through the crowd.

"Who was that you were you talking to?" Sorin was back with our tickets.

"Just one of your minions," I joked.

The exhibit was amazing, as I expected. It consisted of all kinds of art, sculptures, paintings, sketches, carvings, and some unidentifiable things. We took our time going through it, interpreting the artists' thoughts, debating their meanings. We had very similar tastes in art. We both loved colorful pieces that would catch your eye as you walked by.

I told him about my sister Elizabeth and how much influence she had in my life. I admitted that I thought she was my artistic inspiration and I lost of piece of myself when she died.

Right on cue, just as I did every other time I talked about her, I began to cry. He looked very concerned as he placed his hands on either side of my face and wiped away my tears with his thumbs.

I tried to look down to hide my face, but his hands were too strong. "I'm really sorr—" He touched my lips with his fingertip.

"Don't be." He slowly bent down and kissed me. As soon as his lips touched mine, my entire body shivered. All of my troubles seemed to melt away, and all I wanted was to be with him.

"Never be sorry for missing your sister," he put his arms around me.

I felt so safe and warm in his arms. I wondered how it was possible to feel so content with someone I hardly knew. I tilted my head back so I could see his face. He was just too perfect to be with someone like me. I got a serious case of butterflies just looking at him.

"Should we go?" I asked, feeling a little breathless.

"Would you let me show you something first? I think you would really enjoy it," he coaxed.

I nodded and Sorin draped his arm around my shoulders and guided me down the street. I slid my hand around his lower back and leaned my head against him as we walked.

"What is it?" I was curious.

"It is a surprise, you will see when we get there."

"It's such a beautiful night." I commented as I glanced up at the stars. "Does it ever snow here?"

"No, it does not get much colder than it is now. It does get quite hot though," he said looking down at me.

  "That must be nice."

"I like the snow actually. There are many winter sports I like."

"I never took you for a winter sports kind of guy. Is there anything you don't do?" I smiled up at him.
