rain;

that's all that surrounded them.

the sound of tiny water droplets colliding

with the steady surface of the concrete sidewalk.

he tightly holds an umbrella over them,

a little rain touching their heels.

her eyes were consuming like the night sky they were upon.

as he was feeding on the stars in her eyes

they both knew that nothing could stop them.

even though they got a little drenched here and there.
