Chapter 15: Saved

"Ate." I heard Clyde call me. We were walking at the shores beside the sea.

"Hm? What is it?" I said still watching the waves crash.

"What does it feel like to fall in love on someone?" His question suddenly surprised me. Hindi ganito si Clyde. Hindi nga siya naniniwala sa mga ganito.

"May sakit ka ba?" Patawang tanong ko.

"I'm serious, ate." Oh God. He is.

"Ba't ka nagtatanong ng mga ganito?" Tanong ko.

"Sagutin mo na nga yung tanong ko!" Aba. Sinigawan ako.

"Well..." He was anticipating for my answer. "It feels like it's not normal. It almost feels like a sin to do that. Pero parang hindi ka ma-guiguilty nun. Masarap siya sa feeling. Biglang titibok ang puso mo dahil sa halong kaba at saya kapag makikita mo yung taong mahal mo. It's like a drug that you just can't avoid to take."

"Pero minsan falling in love can fail. Masasaktan ka sa huli. Marerealize mo na hindi ka pala mahal ng taong mahal mo. Hindi pala niya naramdaman yung nararamdaman mo para sa kanya. And you decide to let go."

I faced him. "So, if you'll fall in love, you need to do your best to make the one you love love you back. Baka hindi siya kabilang sa mga girls na palagi mong kasama dito. I don't like them kasi masyadong malandi sila. I really hope she's not like those kind of girls." I continued.

Tumawa si Clyde. "Don't worry, ate. She's not like them."

"She's... different." A little smile showed up on his lips.

"Wow. Who is she?" I asked him out of curiosity.

But before he answered who she is, someone called him. Both of us turned to the woman.

Si Lia.

"Sir." She shyly called Clyde. I looked at Clyde and I saw his ear getting red.

Wait. Is it...

"Uhm. Nandito po si Mr. De Lano." Aniya. Tito is here?

"Ano?!" Pasigaw niyang tanong. I can see the fear and surprise on his face.

"OA mo naman. Puntahan mo na dali. Susunod lang ako." I told him.
"Sige, ate. Excuse me." Nagpaalam siya at bumalik na sa lobby.

Babalik na rin sana si Lia pero tinawag ko siya. "Lia!" I called her and she turned to my direction. "Po?"

"May itatanong sana ako." Sabi ko.

"Ano po 'yun, ma'am?" Aniya.

"Do you like Clyde?" I asked looking straight to her brown eyes.

I saw her blush because of my sudden question. "Ano pong klaseng tanong 'yan, ma'am?" She asked shockingly.

Tumawa ako. "Oh, nothing. Bagay sana kayo." I giggled. "You can go." Ani ko. Nagpaalam siya sakin at bumalik na.

I looked back at the crashing waves of the sea. A memory suddenly appeared on my mind.

Flashback
(8 years ago, beach somewhere in Batangas)

"Lucian! Lucian!" Tinawag ko siya. Habang papalapit siya sakin, tinignan ko siya nang mabuti.

His hair got a little bit messy because of the wind but it made him a lot sexier. He was wearing a white tank top and swimming trunks. I noticed he gained some muscles. I bet he went to the gym. I smiled at the thought.

"Look at these crabs! Ang cute nila, diba?" I showed them to him.

"Oo nga. Ang cute nila." He answered and touched them.
