“Everybody this is sky, she's the girl i met at the hospital a month back, sky this is, from left to right, riley, eva and carter” louis pointed them all out. riley looks a bit bitchy, she has highlighted brown hair, she was so pretty though,  eva has big eyes and really pale blonde hair, carter is pretty good looking but not louis or zack good looking.

“Nice to meet you all, i just have to get on with my shift, ill come sit down between serving” i smiled tying my apron on around my waist. i walked over behind the counter and got my notepad and a pen, walking over to table nine i saw zack go over and chat some woman up on the table nearby, so instead i walked over to a table with two men on it.

“hello what can i get you today” i asked as politely as i could

“hey, can you get me a coffee and him a cup of tea?”  he responded rudely

“sure do you you want anything else?” asking to finish the order.

“maybe a female server next time” he laughed,

“oh I'm sorry am i not womanly enough for you? hair to short?” i raised my voice slightly

“just bring us our drinks” he did a shooey motion with his hand

“Wait so 2 coffees? and a muffin?” I'm purposely got the order wrong trying to piss them off.

“no dumb ass, a coffee and a tea” his friend gestured for me to go and get their drinks

“of course, ill throw in a free muffin each for the inconvenience” i faked a smile and walked off, pouring their coffee i had my co-worker jill search the bin for two muffins, she brought back a cake and cut 2 slices off and put them on a plate each.

“i couldn't find any muffins” she pulled the top off of both slices and spat in them. i picked up the two drinks in one hand and held the 2 plates with one hand.

walking out i saw zack wave at me to go over to his table i nodded and dumped the order on the rude guys table spilling the drinks a little bit.

“that will be 5.97 please”  he handed me a ten pound note and i put it in my pocket “thanks for the tip” i called to them as i walked off.

“whats up zack?” i asked smiling to the girl he was sat with.

“a coffee for the two of us” he smiled

“sure, anything else?” they both shook their heads and continued to talk, i made my way back over to the counter to make the coffee.

“oh hey uhm, sky isn't it?” Riley came over to me,

“yeah and riley?” i already knew her name, but since she didn't memorise mine  may as well act the same to her.

“Yeah, so uhm you know louis and you met at the hospital? well he keeps changing the story about why you were there, i just wanna make sure everything is okay with you, i mean you seem alright so far and i like you so far, i understand if you want to keep it between you and louis but i wanna make sure” she said, quickly but slow enough to understand.

“yeah I'm alright, i mean i had my suspicions about you when we first met too but you seem alright as well i also heard from zack that you are applying for a new room mate?” i asked, its true i heard but i was trying to drop a hint I'm looking for a new apartment since mines alright i guess but the landlord is a pain.

“yeah, you're more than welcome to apply, ill just make sure no hot guys apply as well” she laughed and i joined in.

“well i gotta go give this coffee to zack then i have a break” i told her she nodded, understanding i guess.

After i gave zack and his date their coffee i went and sat down on the free seat surrounding a table everyone had sat around.

“im doing the apartment interviews tomorrow afternoon so if you're interested let me know” she smiled

“yeah i am i mean my landlord is a pain in the ass and well my apartment is too expensive for its size, its pathetic really” she nodded as if she understood.

“i had a landlord like that and i stole his watch then set fire to it, its a peace method i use, once carter pissed me off and i cut off a lock of his hair then set fire to it, did someone do that to you?” eva smiled quite freakishly, i must have looked terrified.

“uhm no i wanted a fresh start” laughing, louis took evas attention away from me by pointing out a lady wearing a fur coat, in a rush eva ran out trying to ‘cleanse’ this woman of the dead animals spirits, even though the fur was faux.

people like that confuse me for many reasons, when people or animals die they die, when trees get cut down plants else where grow, i mean yes the planet is going to end sooner than expected but i wont be around to stop it happening, i mean we can slow that down but either way the earth will essentially die. Ive never actually thought like this before, i mean i found people like that quite annoyingly peaceful but maybe since the realisation of my cancer has caused me to think more cynical than before or maybe i have always subconsciously thought it but the realisation had only just hit me.

“you alright sky? you've been starring at that tree for a couple minutes now” eva asked me tapping my shoulder slightly

“yeah just thinking” i nodded trying to find something else to catch my attention.

“do you mind if i try and guess what? i mean after my sister killed herself i always wanted to understand peoples thoughts” eva said, the part of her sister killing herself was said so calmly. this girl is something different.

“uhm yeah sure, but we've only just met, wouldn't it be better to practice with people you know?” because of how weird this girl is i am genuinely scared of her.

“riley usually thinks about how her books were put back in the wrong order after she caught zack looking for 50 shades of grey” eva told us quite proudly

“what? you told me i was thinking of ketchup earlier, how did you know i was thinking about my book shelf”

“louis told me, I'm not really a mind reader” eva started laughing which then became uncontrollable, although her friends didn't seem to notice, she must do that a lot.

~hey guys so this fanfiction is similar to my friends as we both have the same basics, girl with cancer meets louis, and i highly recommend  as both storys have their own twists, link below
