I sat there on the wooden bench in Mrs. Orilles office. I've been in here before when she had supposedly found "the right family". However she was wrong and I ended right back here a few months later. Everyone I knew had left with their new families and I was stuck here.
I played music through my earbuds as I watched the raindrops trickle down the window. Mrs.Orilles was a nice lady and she seemed to care a lot for us. The day I came back she hugged me while I cried and even bought me an IPod for Christmas.
"Awsten, they're here" she said standing up from her desk and walking to the doorway.
I stood up and picked my black leather backpack off the floor. As I followed her down the hallway my heart started beating faster. She slowed down to unlock the door.
As she opened it, the door revealed 2 smiling faces.
"Hello" they smiled at me.
Mrs.Orilles put her hand on my back and guided me slowly to them. The man extended his hand to mine and I hesitantly shook back.
"You must be Awsten." he said and I nodded.
"Can I take your bag for you?" He asked gesturing to my bag.
I handed it to him and he began walking to the car. The woman walked closer to me and put her hand on my back to lead me to the car. I thanked Mrs.Orilles and waved her goodbye. The rain ran down my face until I got into the car. The man and women got in after me and the man started the car. As we drove off I watched my old home fade away.
God please let this work.
