Chapter Five
UNKNOWN
*Is this Y/N?
Buzz. A notification pops up on my phone, a number I don't recognise owning the message. I question whether or not to actually respond and if so, what to say but it's not long before I settle on a decent enough response.
YOU
*Who is this?
UNKNOWN
*I asked first.
I roll my eyes, sarcasm now flowing through my fingertips.
YOU
*How old are you?
I read what I wrote cautiously, I probably should've been politer or just simply less sarcastic. I sound like my dad thinking that, he's constantly reminding me I should be less sarcastic; it's rare that I listen.
UNKNOWN
*20...
I stifle a giggle, obviously, this person took it quite literally. However, just as I read it over one more time the other nights' meal with Jungkook flashes into mind. Specifically, I recall him telling me he had just turned twenty.
YOU
*Jungkook?
It's a long shot, I know, there are thousands of twenty-year-olds but what percentage of them would actually message me?
UNKNOWN
*Y/N?
Clearly, this person is just as guarded as me, so in my response, I drop my wall and just agree.
YOU
*Okay. I am Y/N, who are you?
UNKNOWN
*Jungkook.
I smile, the tightened grip on my phone loosening once the idea of some creep in a basement, the screen from his phone illuminating his face while typing to me with only bad intentions melts away.
YOU
*Oh! Hi.
JUNGKOOK
*Sorry! You don't think I'm creepy, do you?
I lightly giggle, attracting some attention of Tae, Yuna, Joon and Soomi before it vanishes and they return back to their conversation about some test coming up; hence why my phone is glued to my hand. As well as poor social skills, I'm also skilled in the art that is procrastination.
