Prologue

There is a legend about the Valkyrie.

It is said they were the fiercest warriors of Asgard, protecting the innocent and helpless from the evil.

Legend also says the went to fight a mighty evil, an evil so powerful it destroyed them all, so badly they did not even reach Valhalla.

But what the legends do not say is that one Valkyrie, one mighty warrior of Asgard did not fall that day. One was not destroyed, and she made her way halfway across the galaxy to a small, often forgotten planet.

It is thought she had a child there with a mortal man, a man whom she loved. But when he died she could not bear it any longer. Her sisters had all been killed and now her love too.

So she fled that planet, and went to the stars, never to be seen again. She left the child in the hands of a friend, who swore to love her as his own and protect her as much as he could.

In every legend, every story, every whisper of it, the child always leads to one thing;

Pain.

I should count it as a blessing then, that I have the strength of a Valkyrie.
