They stood on the red carpet, Mason and her long-time boyfriend smiling to the cameras, the lights flashing as the paparazzi tried getting the best shots for the front page of the agencies they worked for. The two spared a glance, a longing look shared between them as they continued for a few other pictures before thanking the cameramen and heading inside the gallery.

Mason was nervous, and her boyfriend knew it. Of course she was nervous, this was the first time her paintings would be displayed—all her paintings were going to be displayed and she had been overthinking the entire event. What if they're too vulgar? Too forward about my life? She kept thinking. What if I used the wrong paint? She couldn't help but find that question stupid but it repeated in her head as she entered.

Her boyfriend noticed and pulled her to a quieter area, placing his hands on her shoulders. "Mason, breathe, you're an amazing and successful artist—you're the youngest to have their pieces, let alone all of them be displayed in L.A's top gallery."

"I know, but... I don't know," she sighed, "what if they don't like it?"

He chuckled, pressing his lips against her temples, "then it wouldn't be displayed for the entire world to see, Mase." She smiled against his touch, wrapping her arms around his chest. "I love you, Mase, you'll do great."

"Thank you, I love you too, Devon," she smiled up at him. She took in a few deep breaths before following him towards the other guests, greeting them all and sharing small talk with them, whilst sipping on the champagne that was served. Despite that she was busy with guests, she couldn't help but frequently glance at the entrance, in hopes that someone would make it.

Of course Daniel had received the invite, but he wasn't sure if it would be a good thing to show up. It's been a few years since they got together, and only nine months ago did they cut it off because they're schedules had begun to fill up.

Daniel had received a few record deals, along with Jack, and the two have been working nonstop for their music career, even going as far as creating a band with not only Jonah, Corbyn, but her cousin, Zach as well. The five were now known as Why Don't We an international pop sensation boy-band that have stolen the hearts of many people.

But Daniel wasn't the only one getting busy. Ever since her first show in a gallery, she's been receiving bids from immensely rich people in buying her work. She's been creating art for a long time, and only when the two split ways did she stop.

Only to come back when she came face-to-face with the one she had arrived to the show-case with. Devon was a stranger at first, who found her drawing by a bench and decided to talk to her. Turns out, the two clicked and they've been together for six months now—not as long as Mason and Daniel, who were together for most of their freshman to junior year of college.

Mason pulled her eyes away from the entrance when she heard her name being called on stage to introduce and explain herself, her work and what inspired them. Her words were rehearsed, she didn't want to ruin it and it flowed out of her flawlessly. "A few of my pieces were inspired by the pains and happiness of my past, of course—I had a neglecting mother, both my father and brother had passed away during war, and I had an unsuccessful relationship during college, but all of that helped me with getting me where I am." She explained. "But after a few of my first pieces, you'll notice that it becomes... happier. I found a person that I care for, I've created my own children—my paintings and even for the unsuccessful relationship, he's a good friend of mine and we're still mutual with one another." After her speech, it went on to the show-case where the velvet rope was pulled away and the guests were allowed to roam free to admire the paintings.
