"s-s-stop staring richie."
bill spat,
the boys keeping their eyes on me as i bathed in the sunlight.
"i get she's your girl and all, but man."
richie snickered,
licking his lips in some hormonal hunger.
bill rolled his eyes along with mine.
"richie, shut up,"
we both spoke in unison,
soon falling into quiet laughs.
"i'm ready to go anyways."
i said as i got up,
placing the warm clothes back on my body.
"b-b-bye guys."
bill parted,
the both of us waving as we exited through the wood.
the walk home with bill was quiet,
which wasn't odd in the slightest.
our hands remained together,
listening to the rhythm of our footsteps that always fell together.
"i don't l-l-like it when they s-stare,"
bill said abruptly.
i looked over at him,
swinging our attached hands.
"i know. i don't either. a girl can't get some sun around here without falling victim to the eyes of some teenage boys,"
i attempted to joke in hopes of lightening the mood.
but bill kept his eyes to the ground and sighed.
"i know. b-b-b-but i want y-y-you all to myself."
i blushed a little then leaned over to kiss his cheek.
"then you'll be lucky to know i'm all yours."
"p-p-promise?"
i nodded,
sticking my pinky out.
he responded by taking his pinky into mine,
twisting it to seal our promise.
"i promise."
he smiled a wide smile that made my heart flip.
"let's go in and watch tv, yeah?"
i suggested as we reached the front steps of my empty house.
he nodded his head,
waking in after me.
the cold air conditioning hit our skin and made us shiver.
bill wrapped his arms around my waist,
pulled me into him,
and laid his head to my shoulder.
"h-h-how did i get so l-lucky?"
he asked softly,
pressing a kiss to my jawline.
i closed my eyes and leaned into his embrace,
giving a soft smile.
"i ask myself that everyday."
we soon took our cuddling to the couch,
where the tv filled the empty noise in the house.
though neither of us were bothered with it,
only worried about the person in front of them.
i nestled my head against his chest and closed my heavy eyes.
he then kissed the top of my head,
rubbing circles against my arm while he spoke,
"i love you with everything in me, y/n,"
his voice was filled to the brim with happiness.
and for the first time since i'd met him,
bill didn't stutter when telling me he loved me.
"i love you a little more everyday. until the end, bill. i'm alright yours."
"until t-the end."
