"I think this is the best tree yet! What do you think" Betty whispers to the 4 year old sitting on her lap. She nods to the green tree twinkling with little white lights, different labeled cardboard boxes surrounding it. He turns to her giggling.

" Best one ever!" He yells wiggling himself off her lap onto to carpet. Holiday music plays cheerfully through the decorated house. This was Jughead and Betty's 6th Christmas together, married at 22. Of course mrs. Cooper did not approve but for the first time in the young girls life, Betty didn't care. Two years later at 24, Betty had little baby Spencer. The couple had never been happier in their life.

" Betts! Can you pass me an oven mitt!" Jughead calls from the kitchen. Betty walks into the kitchen, grabbing a oven mitt from the counter and giving it to her husband. She smirks when she sees he's wearing her pink apron, his beanie replaced with a Santa hat. He doesn't wear his signature hat much anymore since it would be unprofessional since he now works for the New York Times. When he told Betty about his job she was nothing but loving and excited for him. He knew how she didn't want an apartment so he surprised her by buying a quaint little house in south hold LI, it wasn't the closest to NYC but there was a train and he was willing to take it every morning and every night if it meant they were both happy. Betty works in a house for troubled teens, much better then the one her sister was sent to years before. She comes home with stories every day, most of the time good but occasionally she'll come home in tears. He's always known how to make her feel better.

Jughead leans into the oven, pulling out a burnt chicken. He groans throwing the oven mitt onto the counter, muttering a profanity under his breath. Betty takes his hand.

" hey, it's not that bad" she says looking at the blackened chicken. He wraps his arm around her waist, leaning his forehead on hers.

" I wanted to cook for you tonight, you shouldn't have to cook tonight we should both be putting ornaments on the tree" he says.

" and we both will" she says turning towards the phone and calling there local pizza place.

" Spencer look buddy" Jughead says gently pulling his son towards him, holding him close showing him an ornament with a picture of the toddler in it.

" this was from your first Christmas" he says. The little boy grabs the ornament and gently placed it on a branch. He looks up to his dad smiling brightly.

" looks like it's time for the star" Betty says pulling the star out of the box.

" daddy I wanna put the star on the tree!" Spencer yells jumping up and down. Jughead laughs before handing Spencer the star and hoisting him up towards the tip of the tree.

" rite on top buddy" he says as his son places the star on top. He sets him down and looks up and down at the tree. Betty ones behind him, resting her chin on his shoulder, taking hold of her sons hand.

" merry Christmas Jug" she says placing a kiss to his cheek.
