1 Year Later (Senior Year- Prom)

Steve walked into the same banquet hall he'd went to a year prior. But the emotions were completely different. Last year he had been scared and confused. He had been alone. He had still been hiding. But now, Steve walked in more confident than ever. He walked in hand in hand with the love of his life.

Jonathan Byers.

Steve stopped Jonathan in front of the door, music blaring. He took both of Jonathan's hands and looked the boy in the eyes, smiling wide.

"We made it."

"Well it was only like a ten minute drive from the house-" Jonathan chuckled and Steve shook his head.

"No I mean we made it. You and me." Steve let go of one of his hands and cupped his cheek gently. Jonathan didn't wait for him to connect their lips. Instead he closed the gap and wrapped his arms around Steve. He kissed him passionately and brought him close. Steve grinned and pulled away a minute later, his forehead against Jonathan's.

"I love you Jonathan Byers."

Jonathan looked at him, eyes wide. This was the first time Steve had ever said he loved Jonathan. "Really?"

"Really." Steve's smile was wider and more genuine than Jonathan had ever seen as he kissed him again.

"I love you too Steve Harrington. Now let's get in there and blow them away." Jonathan smiled and laced their fingers. His confidence had become so much better, it blew Steve away. He smiled at his boyfriend and walked through the doors as the heat and the music hit them.

The two boys in love went through the crowd and danced, never leaving the other's side. They were happier than they had ever been, and it was all because of one wrong number, one fight, one apology and four nosy kids.
