A lot of people wonder what their hair type is.  You'll only be able to see the true curl pattern if you hair is soaking wet and is not chemically or physically damaged, meaning you don't have a relaxer or heat damage.

The hair types are as follows

Type 1: Straight

Type 2: Wavy

Type 3: Curly

Type 4: Coily

That's pretty much how it is.  Notice I didn't put A, B, or C classifications (2A, 3B...) The reason why I don't care for the letter much is because that to me is so EXTRA.

Most people have a combination of the hair types, so someone may have 3B hair and 3C which are just variations of spring curls.  These variations can be due to products weighing hair down or length so why not just say you have type 3 hair, ya know?

Also, on YouTube if a YouTube says they have 4C hair, people will be so quick to say no.

"Ooh, girl, your hair too nice to be 4C."

"Nah, your hair curls, that's not 4C behavior."

Like, sis, I personally have 4C hair and it's cute as hell.  Watchu mean? Many think that if 4C hair is anything but an afro, it's not 4C.  Mhm, interesting.
