I woke up in a pool of blood. I pushed myself up fighting the feeling of sickness I felt. The entertainment girls bodies were scattered on the ground. Some of the less fortunate ones were missing limbs. Muso's body was next to where my head had been. The men were gone. I looked down at myself. I was covered in dirt and almost dry blood. "Delphina! Delphina, where area you?" I called. "Over here." She called back. I turned to her voice and saw she was maybe ten feet away. I crawled over to her. "Area you okay?" I asked ever thought I could tell from the large gash in her stomach that she was not. "I've been better." She said. I started to cry. "I'm sorry, delphina. I'm so sorry." I said. I was crying so hard I was having trouble breathing. "Why are your sorry?" She asked. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect everyone. I failed." I said. "No, your have no reason to be sorry. This isn't your fault." She said. Than she started laughing. "What." I said. "You really area a bloodthirsty little creature, aren't you?"

"What do your mean?"

"You were wounded with that first arrow, but you kept fighting. Your still have that arrow poking out of your shoulder." I looked down and, sure enough, there it was. I pulled it out.

"You have a thick hide that's as strong as the finest leather. You have built strong walls around your heart so you wouldn't get hurt. You are a warrior in every sense of the word. But you have a soft side that your let few people see. Don't block out that soft side, for it makes your human. Don't be afraid to let someone close. Promise me that. Promise."

"Delphina? Delphina! Don't go! Please don't leave me!" I begged. But I knew it was pointless. Delphina was already gone. I hug the now lifeless shell that had been my friend. I looked around. The whole village was destroyed. I looked at the sky. It was nearly noon. I stood up and dig. I buried Delphina, than Muso, than all the entertainment girls. By the time I had finished it was almost totally dark. Found my sword and pack. Than I remembered all the arrows sticking out of my back. I removed them one by one. Then I wrapped the wounds. I began walking away from the village. I walked until I could no longer see the village behind me. I walked until my legs hurt. I walked until I came to a forest. This was not the forest I had come out of the day Muso found me. While that forest was lined with Pine trees, this one was lined with Oaks. I walked so that I was just behind the largest Oak and laid down. I looked up at the night sky. "I swear I'll kill all those who dare call themselves Hellspawn.I swear it." I said. I rolled over onto my side and went to sleep.
