The leaves on the trees
and the coolness of the breeze
as the scent of pine and wet earth
fills the senses
The ground is damp, twigs and leaves a-scattered
while the animals are living in the wild
unaware of human life and outside the forest
The dark chocolate tree trunks,
lines engraved like old women's wrinkles
and roots deep in the ground, giving the earth a hug
feeling the life around them
