The next few weeks flew by like a whirlwind. We had people brought in for interrogation. Anyone who might know something about Harry's whereabouts. Bellatrix made sure that I put myself to good use, teaching me more ways to "get an answer" out of someone. By December I had become knowledgeable enough of her ways that she would give me someone to interrogate and leave the dirty work to me.

Draco would come back to the manor on a few occasions. Usually only for a day, to report something whenever there was a meeting. Then he'd go straight back to Hogwarts. We hadn't had any interaction other than a simple "hello" since the time I had brought him to the orphanage. I had promised myself to give him a chance. I would no longer purposely go out of my way to avoid him. Though nothing much has amounted since that decision.

It was drawing close to Christmas. Five days before Christmas to be exact. I had planned to go visit my brother, however, he said he'd be busy on that day. Not that I'm surprised. He was always busy around the holidays we were lucky if he came to visit. I was just hoping to be around family for once. Even if it were for a short while, I just wanted to pretend everything else didn't exist. Of course, that was asking too much. Draco would be coming home for Christmas, I don't know whether or not to be happy about that.

I closed my eyes and leaned against the cold glass of the window in my room. I try to remember what things were like before. How would I be spending my time had none of this happen? I would be sitting on the carpet, the warmth of the flames in the fireplace would fill the room. I'd hear my mom hum a soft tune as she curls up on the couch cushions to read a book. My dad would be coming home from work and complain about how cold the weather is. My mom would laugh at him and she'd get up to make us hot chocolate. I felt my cheeks becoming wet and I quickly wiped the tears away. I had promised myself to stop crying alone. I tried hard not to break it. I could feel my body grow heavy, I slowly started to fall asleep then all at once I slipped into a slumber.

I woke to the sound of a loud knock on my door. I was freezing, I realized I had fell asleep against the window not bothering to get up to go to bed. The knock came again and I reluctantly rose from my spot. I opened the door, probably looking like death since I just woke up. "I'm capable of waking myself up, what's going on?" I asked the man who stood before me. He was slightly older than me, and was often playing errand runner for the older death eaters.

"Bellatrix is summoning you down." He said in monotone. I simply nodded and closed the door. I quickly fixed my appearance so I didn't look like I just woke up, running my fingers through my hair to comb out any knots in them. I headed down as fast as I could, knowing she had little to no patience for tardiness.

I entered the basement, as this is usually where she calls me down to. I could hear sniffling and my stomach twisted knowing whatever she wanted me down here for couldn't be good. I opened the gate at the end of the stairs and walked in. Bellatrix was the standing in front of a frail figure with a bag over their head.

"Ah, finally, you took your time," The witch sneered. "Auntie's got a surprise for you." She said in a sing song tone that made me feel sick.

"What is it now?" I asked wanting to get it over with.

"I thought you were getting bored, so I brought over a friend," she smiled wickedly and took off the bag covering the person's face. My eyes widened as I realized who was there before me.

"Y/N?" Luna looked at me confused. I recovered from my shock and my stoic expression returned. "Why are you here?"

I ignored the question and looked away. "What do you want me to do with her?"

"Find out what she knows," Bellatrix started. "But don't dispose her. She'll be useful to us alive." A wicked smile spreads across her face. "Have fun," she said and patted my shoulder before leaving. I waited for the sound of the door closing and I searched the area for anyone else. When I confirmed that we were alone I hurried back to Luna and untied the restraints on her hands.

"How did you end up here?" I asked softly.

"I was on the train. I was going back to spend Christmas with my father." She replied. "How about you?"

I smiled sadly, "it's a long story..."

"How long have you been here?"

"Since Dumbledore," I didn't need to finish my sentence. We sat across from each other in silence. "I know what this looks like. I can't honestly tell you that I'm a good person, because I'm not. But I can promise you that I'm not a bad person entirely. I'm forced to be here to keep my brother safe. I am not going to let them hurt you."

"You know that you can't promise that," She replied. She looked down and rubbed her wrists. "Hogwarts isn't the same anymore."

"I know it's not."

"Could you tell me why you're here, I want to understand," she asked quietly.

"After my parents died," I sighed remembering everything. "Bellatrix came to me. My father was a very distant relative of hers. I looked into our family tree to confirm it, it's not a blood relation. But none the less she was technically a relative. She told me about who I really am. After my mom had my brother she couldn't bear more children. They found me and adopted me. I'm a muggle born. I look like them because some of my features were magically altered to look similar enough to them so that questions wouldn't be asked. My birth was forged and everything about who I was before they adopted me was erased. I have no memory of my life before then, so I never knew that I was adopted. She made me her pawn. Me and Draco were both forced into being death eaters. He did it to redeem his family's name. I did it to keep that secret and my brother safe. I can't lose him Luna. He's all I've got left. I don't care what I have to do or what happens to me as long as he's safe."

"They're destroying you though Y/N."

"It's worth it if he remains unharmed." I answer silently.

"I'd do the same for my father." She says. I look up at her and smile then push myself up off the ground.

"I'm going to have to do something." I let out a quiet huff as I dusted myself off. "I can't leave you like this. If they see you don't even have a scratch both of us will be in trouble. Do me a favor, this won't hurt much. But I'm going to need you to scream loud and you need to make it believable that I'm hurting you." She nodded. "I promise I will get you out of here as soon as possible. But for now just follow my lead so that we won't get caught."
