Yelling. Screaming. Vines everywhere. It was like the ground had come alive and was attacking us. All around me, people ran away, avoiding the red vines that were protruding out of the ground.

I just stood there, stunned by what had happened. It wasn't until I heard my Pokegear ring that I snapped out of my trance. Hand trembling, I pulled it out of my pocket. "Hello?"

"Astrid." It was Diantha. "Are you OK?"

"I'm fine, Champion. What do I do now?"

"Report to the city square as soon as possible. I suggest you go to the Pokemon Centre to heal your Pokemon beforehand. Check on your parents as well."

"Yes, Champion." I snapped my Pokegear shut and sent out Honchkrow. "Let's go, Honchkrow. Fly me to the Pokemon Centre first." I touched down in front of the Pokemon Centre, running inside and slamming the door shut before anything could get in.

"Astrid!"

I whirled around and saw my parents running towards me. I hugged them tightly. "Thank Arceus you're all right! I was so worried, you were in the spectators' stand and I was down there on the battlefield."

My father stared at me, concern in his eyes. "You're all right too, aren't you?" I nodded. "Listen, I know that you have duties as an Ace Trainer. I'm sure you have to leave soon."

"I know, Dad. But I'm going to stay here for a while, at least until my Pokemon are healed. How about you and Mom? Are you two going to stay here until everything's sorted out?"

"No," My mother shook her head. "It's too dangerous here. Your father and I have decided to Fly back to Laverre City and protect our research. Professor Sycamore says that the people who attacked are looking for things related to Mega Evolution, so we're going back to make sure they can't get our research."

"OK, then." At that moment, Nurse Joy came out with her Chansey, holding a tray that contained my Pokeballs. "I'm afraid I have to go." I took my Pokeballs from Nurse Joy, then went and embraced my parents. "I'll come back when Diantha restores peace. I promise."

"We love you, Astrid," my father said. "Stay safe. We'll be waiting for you at home." With that, I ran out of the Pokemon Centre and to the city square.

That was the last time I ever saw my parents.
