Our ride was short. Mallory had chosen a quaint bistro that had recently opened in town. Upon being seated, the manager had gotten wind of the councilwoman's arrival and made his way over.

He was a short, slender man with chestnut hair and eyes to match. His voice was a tad too low for such a man, but I assumed he was trying to overcompensate. Either that, or he had a relatively low voice.

I had already spent fifteen minutes waiting for the man to draw his tongue back into his mouth and leave so our waiter could come take our order. I was getting impatient. One because I was hungry. And two because I wanted Mallory's attention, and this guy was preventing that.

Taking an obnoxiously loud drink of my water, I stared the brunette down, waiting until she would glance over at me. When her blue eyes finally met mine, I frowned, flickering my eyes to the man then back to her. She offered a small smile and redirected her attention back to the manager.

Sighing, I leaned against the back of our booth and pulled out my phone. I scrolled through social media, hoping that this would make the time go by faster. Stopping at my brother's post, I liked the picture of his new girlfriend and him and went on to read the caption. To my pleasure, it was a list of things he couldn't wait to do with her; binge watching movies, hiking trails, taking day trips, and so on. I was proud of him, and glad that he'd finally gotten the nerve to ask her out. Either that, or she did. Whatever happened, I was glad.

I continued scrolling, at least until something touched my leg. Playing it off, I tried to reconcentrate, but was stopped once again. Glancing up at Mallory, I was just in time to see her smirk and my eyes widened.

Mallory Morgan was playing footsie with me.

Her foot traveled up my calf and to my knee, and caressing it's way back down. Licking my lips, I practically shivered in anticipation. I hoped that because she was feeling a little frisky, that she would play with me. At least that's what I wanted her to do. I needed undivided attention and attentive aftercare ASAP.

"..I'm just so pleased to have you here, Mrs Morgan," the manager declared, fawning over my mistress. "Not to mention all you're doing in our community. And your husband! Your husband has been-"

"Indeed, Indeed," her voice cut sharply, maintains a pleasant tone while declaring authority.

That's my girl.

The same time, the same foot traveled back up my leg, not stopping until it was mid thigh and I worried that my arousal would find a way to control my actions, creating a publicly indecent and scandalous situation.

"Would you be a dear and get our waiter? I have a few questions for him."

I smirked to myself as the older man fumbled over his words. "Well, I could take care—"

"No need," Mallory dismissed, opening her menu and submerging herself into it. "I'm sure you have more important things to be doing. It was pleasant to meet you, Mr. Gill."

He nodded, accepting the dismissal. "Of course. Let me know if you need anything, Councilwoman." His tone was heavy with rejection and I was loving it.

She hummed, not even glancing up as the man left. When he was out of earshot, I busted out laughing, completely ignoring the ever traveling foot against my legs. Mallory eyed me over her menu, a soft smile on her lips.

"Amused?"

"Obviously," I mused. "That asshole came over here like you wanted to talk to him, and walked away like a kicked puppy."

Another hum graced my ears. "One would think you were jealous that he held my attention."

I snorted in response. "Please. The man was an imbecile, and a douche."

"Please don't use your entire vocabulary in one sentence, Miss Holland."

"I know more words than that."

Mallory folded her menu and took a sip of her coffee. "Somehow I find it difficult to fully trust that."

"Whatever," I muttered, setting my menu down as well.

She seemed as if she were going to same something until our waiter came to take our order. When he left, Mallory's phone rang, and she took her call, leaving me to my own devices.

I sent Kalob a text, informing him that I would be going home after work instead of to his house. He responded fairly quickly, saying that he was working late too, and might stop over on his way home. Glancing up at Mallory, who was finally finishing her conversation, I reminded him to text me when he was on his way and put away my phone.

Before she hung up, our waiter returned with our food; two house salads and two bowls of chicken noodle soup. I thanked him for both of us, and started eating almost immediately. I hadn't realized how hungry I had been. Moaning at the taste of the slightly spicy soup, I glanced up at Mallory, ready to share how delicious the soup was, but I was stopped short by a curious gaze.

Azure eyes were trained on my face, an undecipherable look upon her face. She took a deliberate bite, chewing as she studied me, and I couldn't help but squirm at the scrutinizing gaze. "I wonder," she stated curiously, "why you have yet to tell me that your boyfriend proposed."

Choking on a noodle, I tried to hide my surprise and embarrassment with a drink of water. "Must have slipped my mind," I brushed off, stabbing my lettuce.

My mistress took a bite of her salad. "Interesting," she mused. "Are you not excited?"

"I'm-I'm just, I don't know."

She hummed, and I rushed to defend myself. "I'm excited, but I'm not sure if it's—right now—the right time."

Mallory drew her spoon to her lips, waiting to respond until after she finished her bite. "There's never a right time, dear. Only fools believe that."

Not responding, we continued to eat in silence, at least until our waiter came to check on us. We both responded positively, and he left once again.

"If I could grant you one thing, right now," Mallory questioned, her voice like velvet, "what would it be?"

I allowed my lust to speak for me. "An orgasm," I mouthed, hoping that no one would notice what I said.

Sculpted eye brows arched and painted lips curled into a smirk. "You continue to surprise me, Miss Holland." She followed with, "Perhaps after hours," and I couldn't help but blush and grin like an idiot.
