Hybrid Hunters

Two months later...
(Jack's POV)

Mark did get better. His wing healed fully and he was now flyin' again. And from now on, instead of gettin' blood from him, I would just hunt in tha' woods behind my house. There were a bunch of animals and it's a healthy alternative fer me.
As I was stalkin' a deer, I saw birds begin tuh' fly away. What tha' hell? They only do that when somethin' is gonna hap-

BANG!!

It was a gunshot and tha' deer ran away. No hunters were allowed back here! Just then, I saw something with large wings start falling towards the ground. I suddenly realized that it was Mark!
He came down fast, and I tried tuh' catch him, only fer us to fall together. He got up and I saw an net stuck around his right wing.
Just then, I heard footsteps comin' our way. It was more than likely a hybrid hunter, who were illegals. They hunted hybrids fer black markets and people were told tuh' report them if they saw any. So, I called 911.

"What's your emergency," the lady said.
"Me and my boyfriend are bein' hunted," I panted, runnin' with Mark while talkin' tuh' her.
"Are you hybrids," she asked.
"Yes. Please help us."
"Tell me your names and where you are."
"My name is Sean McLoughlin and his is Mark Fischbach. We're in tha' woods behind my house, which is on private property. It's on Lincoln Avenue, and please hurry."
"I need to know what kind of hybrids, so the police know who's who."
"Mark has wings and is a dove hybrid. I'm a wolf hybrid. I have green hair and his wings are pink. Please send help."
"They're on their way. Just hold on."

I heard the steps comin' closer. I saw their faces and got ready tuh' fight them. They weren't gonna take me and Mark alive...

(Mark's POV)

I was laid against a tree while Jack turned full hybrid and got into his fighting stance. I wanted to help, but I couldn't. I then pulled out the net off my wing so it wouldn't cause me as much pain anymore. It did hurt to get it all untangled while my wing was in it, but it felt better.
I could hear their yells as Jack fought them. Suddenly, my arms were pinned behind my back and a hand went over my mouth, making it impossible to alert Jack. My wings and wrists were tied together, so I couldn't even try to fly away or fight back.
I had one chance now... I bit my captor's hand and yelled Jack's name, only to be hit in the face for it. Jack turned around and saw my condition, getting more pissed. He left from the group he was fighting in order to help me.
I then heard the sirens and the men started to leave. Jack had taken down a few, but didn't kill them. Only reason he didn't is because he knew the police would question them. I could hear them running through the woods, and they found us.
Jack ran over to me and let one of his claws out in order to cut the rope around my wings and wrists.

"Hold still," he warned.

He cut them off quickly and helped me up. I felt my wing burning, since it was hurt and had been pinned.

"We need tuh' get that seen. It could be hurt," he sighed. "Try tuh' flap it and see if it hurts."

I did, and it felt only a little hurt.

"I think it's just sprained," I replied. "It only hurt a little."
"Ya sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. I'll just need to take two more days off of flying. Then I can get back to it again."

The police came over to us and started asking us questions, such as how did this start.

"Well," I began. "I was sitting on top of the roof, since I like to watch the clouds and stuff like that. Then, I went to ask Jack if he wanted to watch with me. The next thing I know, a shot lets out and there's a net around my wing and part of my arm."
"I saw him fallin'," Jack added. "I fought them since he couldn't, really. They almost took him, but that's when ya got here."

The policeman wrote something on his notepad and told us that we would be kept on the list of people that could possibly go missing on the black market. They also told us to stay inside from now on, if we could.
They'd tell the school, so looks like our Christmas break will be longer than expected. It was only in two weeks that it started, but now it looks like we'll be having a five-week Christmas break.

"Sounds good tuh' me," Jack smiled.
"Me too..."
