We've all daydreamed about coincidentally bumping into a pop sensation, falling in love, getting married, having kids-- which is exactly why those fanfictions were written with such detailed fantasy. Right?
Well, Boys in Bands is a detailed reality check.
This book is diverse in its characters, honest with emotions and absolutely swoon-worthy in its bittersweet romance. It weaves a sensible love story between a levelheaded woman and man who wanted to be himself despite the pressures of his stardom. It portrays the sickening reality of overzealous fans too entitled to the lives of their beloved idols.
We forget that boys in bands are humans too, and this story brings about a perspective that us fans tend to neglect.
