Rory Kane had perfectly planned out her senior year. Great grades? Check. First high school party attended? Check. Getting asking out by her best friend's crush? Not exactly on her list.
When Rory runs away from the high school quarterback, Will Porter's, attempts to ask her out, her idea of a quiet and tame year before going to university topples to the ground. Rory is known as the always-bubbly girl with a well of secrets behind her pretty face, but no one could ever imagine the lengths she would go to keep those secrets - AKA make a deal with the school's notorious man-whore and Will's best friend, Carter Grey, to fake date in order to get Will off of her back.
As a romantic who's sworn off love, the idea seems simple enough to Rory. Hold hands, maybe a few public dates, and then a dramatic, messy breakup that gets her as far away from Carter Grey as possible and back into her comfort zone.

REVIEW:
Everyone one of us has gone through that you're-my-best-friend's-crush-so-please-do-not-ask-me-out moment at least once in our current lifetime (If you haven't yet, just wait it out. You'll understand soon). This book is exactly that, except Rory Kane is the perfect example of a girl who would rather run away from such awkwardness than have an awkward heart-to-heart where she knows she'll end up breaking someone's delicate organ.
Complexity was her middle name and innocent little lies were her forte.
@LightenTheShadows builds up this amazingly messed up love square that's more tangled up than your bed hair when you first wake up in the morning. It's funny, it's sweet, and it's the perfect blend of more love than hate between Rory Kane and Carter Grey. Their relationship is addictive, but they don't know it yet.
Tune into their ongoing story, because who doesn't love a little drama that comes with a fake boyfriend?
