All over Instagram people are talking about 2 free tickets that are being given to some very lucky person to see next weekend's show of Dear Evan Hansen. I can't imagine what it'd be like to actually be at a real musical. I mean, I've listened to the soundtrack and that alone made me cry so I don't know how I would handle the whole story.

I do as everyone else is and repost the photo with the hashtag # dehfreetickets . Knowing that I wouldn't have any chance of winning them, considering the thousands of entries that had already been posted, I headed back downstairs to see if Mum had finished dinner yet.

"It's on the bench," she says once she sees me and I head over to the kitchen. I pick up my bowl and grab a fork from the cutlery draw. I join Mum on the couch and watch NCIS with her. I used to love practically every crime show but now it's mainly just NCIS:LA and Criminal Minds.

"What are we going to do?" I ask, "Money wise."

Mum looks down at her food. "I'm not really sure yet. I heard that there were some really great Vet. Hospitals in NYC. I'm sure I could maybe find something there."

"NYC?" I can't believe what I'm hearing. "You can't pack us up and move to NYC!"

"I didn't say we were going, I just mentioned there was work there. I was looking at some of the schools though..."

I roll my eyes. I know my mum, I know she wants to move. I can tell by the way she's acting, she wants this.

"And?" I encourage her.

"And they have such great performing art programs Kens! You'd be so at home there. You could act and sing and dance to your hearts content." She was really trying to sell me on the idea. "I think it'd be a good fresh start for us you know? After everything that's happened here with your dad and I, I think this could be something really good."

"I suppose you haven't looked at apartments yet have you?" The look I get from Mum answers my question.

"Show me," I say. If I'm going to move I may as well have some sort of say in where I have to live.

After what felt like hours of looking at apartments in and surrounding the NYC area we found a couple that we really love. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and a balcony of some sort is good enough for Mum and I.

Obviously it would have to be pet friendly because I couldn't leave our dog Archie behind. He's a Toy Poodle X, he's an old fello at 10 but he certainly doesn't feel or look it.

"Oh shit!" Mum exclaims and almost throws my laptop onto the coffee table. "I'm late!" She jumps up and runs up the stairs to get ready for work.

"I don't even see why you're going!" I yell. "It's not like it's going to make a difference!"

Thanks for reading! 3 chapters in, hopefully many more to come.
