*(Y/n)'s POV*

I stepped into the room. Everyone's eyes landed on me. I'm.. three minutes late and they pretend like it's been an hour.
-"You're late," Sonya said sternly, walking up to me with her angered expression and folded arms.

-"Sorry, General Blade. I had to take care of some stuff from Kenshi's side. It's only three minutes nonetheless," I muttered as I walked up to the table.

-"Time is time. Sit down," Sonya muttered, slapping my shoulder. I rolled my eyes, sitting down.

My eyes met with Johnny's, and he simply smirked.
-"Why is this asshole here?" I snapped rudely, pointing towards the failed actor.

-"I would ask the same if I was you. I've signed you two on a mission. I first though Kenshi would be a good company, but as you've seen, the man's busy all day," Sonya explained as she sat down beside me.

-"Can't Johnny do Kensh's work and Kenshi can join me? You know I cannot stand your failed ex," I snapped, totally ignoring the fact that Johnny was sitting beside me, listening.

Don't get me wrong, Johnny's a nice man. He knows he can make people laugh, but I've just had enough of his humorless and rude jokes.

-"We're both agreeing on that. Johnny, go get Kenshi!" Sonya yelled, making Johnny jump. He quickly got out without saying anything. How weird. Normally he makes a rude comment, but not now apparently...

I took a look at the files on the table. I could feel my skin crawl. This man... again?
-"It's not a pleasant sight, I know. You and Kenshi will be taking on Kano as soon as you find the man. We need info on Shinnok's amulet. But about Kenshi..." Sonya started.

I moved to look at her, and she wore a smirk. She knows that I have a thing for him?

-"Yes, I know you like him. What makes him so special for you?" Sonya placed her elbows on the table, leaning closer to me. I gave her a suspicious look as I shrugged. "Relax. I'm just gonna make sure you won't go in the same trap as me."

I let out a laugh, staring at her with huge eyes.
-"If I ever get the chance to tell him about my feelings, I will. I am pretty sure he's not as stupid and selfish as your failed actor!" I snapped, but a shadow from the door got my attention.

-"You're looking at someone? Who may this 'he' be?" Kenshi asked, simply smiling as he walked closer to us. I blushed immediately, looking over at Sonya for help. She rolled her eyes, standing up.

-"(Y/n) here has a huge thing for... Actually that doesn't matter. Let's get to the task at hand," Sonya said, and Kenshi just walked up to the table. He stepped up right beside me, placing his fists on the table.

I bit my lip, staring at the papers again.
-"The two of you will be dropped off in the jungle to our west. Kano's been spotted there, and you must bring him to us. Alive, remember that. If you kill him we'll lose info on the amulet," Sonya explained as she dragged out a map.

-"I'll leave that for you," Kenshi said, chuckling as he hit my shoulder in a playful way.
-"Oh, uh... yeah," I whispered, blushing. God damn it, and I'm supposed to work the whole day with this man?

Sonya only laughed, shaking her head.
-"Anyway, focus (y/n). We'll drop you off here at the rendezvous. You'll meet there with us once you've captured Kano. So backup will be there in case, but I believe in you," Sonya explained, pointing to the meeting point before moving across the map.
