*(Y/n)'s POV*

My eyes traveled towards the door as it opened, my anxiety growing by the very second. I stared, eager to take a look at my husband once again.

-"Hey, you doing okay? You seem very tense," I turned towards my mother, only nodding. No, I wasn't fine... I have recently been married away from the Shirai Ryu, towards the Lin Kuei. My clans enemies for a long time.

-"Hanzo has done everything he can to make this work. Kuai is a good man, (y/n). If he was a bad man, your father would never do this. Hopefully, this will strengthen our clans bonds," mother replied, giving me a smile.

-"Yes, Kuai is indeed a nice man. I just... this is my fifth time seeing Kuai. I'm nervous," I whispered towards her, earning a understanding nod.

-"I get it. Your marriage was two weeks ago... I just hope that the two of you can have a fine family together. I mean, he is a strong and healthy man. He should get you pregnant in no time. He better, for your sake."

I turned towards my mother with a serious face, my eyes piercing through her soul. I've told her not to talk about this in public so many times before! Everyone believe that I and Kuai was intimate with each other during our first night together; after the marriage day.

But we weren't.
I simply wasn't ready yet and Kuai managed to understand that without making any awkward situation and scene about it. We decided not to tell my parents about it, but my parents are expecting me to get pregnant any day now; that is the problem.

As soon as my father and Kuai walked through the door, people started gathering around them quickly. Some were Lin Kuei warriors, some were Shirai Ryu warriors. Others were them who lived here, interested in the whole situation that was ongoing.

When Kuai and Hanzo managed to reach us, his eyes landed on me and them both grew a smile. I smiled back, bowing to him.
-"There is no need to bow for me, (y/n)," Kuai explained, holding his hand out for me. I nervously nodded in return, placing my hand in his.

-"We'll prepare a good dinner for tonight. You two can go and catch up," my mother said, smiling towards us. Kuai bowed before her, replying:
-"Thank you."

I and Kuai left the populated area, leaving off to my room. It was the only place where we could talk to each other alone. When we got to my room, I closed the door and turned towards Kuai.

He raised his eyebrow, probably wondering why I was acting like I did.
-"I-I.. I might lose it soon," I whispered, hugging myself, moving my eyes to the floor.
-"What do you mean?" Kuai questioned.

-"My mom keeps on telling me how.. strong and healthy that you are.. that, that you'll make me pregnant in no time, right? And she's waiting for me to give her those news in any coming week. I don't know what to do, or what to say," I said, throwing it all out at once.

Kuai seemed to relax as I spoke, the man getting a smile across his face.
-"Let's sit down, okay?" I nodded as a reply, and we sat down on the edge of my bed, staring out towards the city.

-"When you are ready, we'll pick up where we left off. Maybe you can tell them that.. that you didn't get pregnant? Or maybe just explain to them that nothing happened between us," Kuai said, placing his hand in mine. I let out a sigh, shaking my head.

-"I promised my mother that I would follow her family's tradition, you know? I can't just say to her that we didn't do anything. I don't want to disappoint her," I whispered, but Kuai managed to hear every word.
