•—————💚🎄❤️—————•"Mom!!!" I heard the whining call of Enzo from the side of the house.
"Your daughters are probably making fun of him again," Richard tells me, taking the glass of iced tea from Leda.
"Ugh, I know, these girls are always ganging up on their brother. And they love tormenting him because they know that whatever they do, Enzo will not bother them. Enzo just love them so much!" I replied, cutting a piece of the carrot cake.
Soon, I heard tiny steps on the wooden floor of the back porch. We are staying at the farm for the weekend in Batangas that Richard bought, so the kids will have their own animals to tend.
"Mom!!!" I heard another whining call from Enzo. He walked up to me and hugged my middle.
"What's the matter?" I asked, tilting his head so I can see his long sad face.
"I don't want them to cook Bubbles mom!" he tells me, his eyes have tears in them and I can feel his sadness.
Of all our three kids, Enzo is the most emotional one. He also has a very happy disposition, you rarely see him frowning or in a bad mood, well, of course, except when his sisters makes fun of him.
"Wait, who's cooking Bubbles?" I asked, rubbing his back, comforting him.
Okay, if you're getting confused now, Bubbles is Enzo's pig. Our three kids have their own animals in the farm. Enzo got Bubbles the pig, Katie has Chuckles the chicken, and Ainslie has Holly the miniature horse, which her father ordered and shipped from Japan.
"Ainslie and Katie said that Atey Leyda is going to make Bubbles a leychon for Christmas mom!"
I glanced up at my two girls who are sneaking up on the corner, giggling. But when they saw their dad watching them, they stopped. They now know they are in trouble.
"No one is going to cook Bubbles, okay buddy?" Richard said, comforting his son. He raised his arms up and gestured for the girls to come over.
Ainslie and Katie have that worried look on their faces. They didn't know that their father arrived early, I told them this morning when we are riding the van on our way to the farm that their dad is coming to join us for dinner later. And they are so busy playing with the animals that they are oblivious of their father's arrival.
Today is the last day of work for Richard and the kids and I can't wait to spend an uninterrupted two weeks with him.
I am giggling inside, for I know that my girls are scared right now. And they look so cute worried. Katie's lips are pursed in a thin line, eyes down, while Ainslie has that poker face as if she has nothing to do why her older brother is in tears right now.
"You two, come here," Richard orders them, his face so serious, but I know that he is trying really hard not to laugh. "Why did you tell your brother that Bubbles is going to get cooked? Who told you that? Katie, is it you?" Richard asked.
"Na-ah!" she replied, shaking her head. "I didn't tell Enzo pow."
"Okay, if it's not you, then who did?"
"Daddy, it was Ainslie who told Enzo that Bubbles will be a leychon on Christmas,"
"But dad!" Ainslie whined. Okay, so we already know who the culprit is.
"Ainslie," her dad warned.
"But daddy, I heawd Ati Leyda, she cookin' a whole pig fow weychon, and Bubbles is a pig daddy!" she explained, making sure that the last part was heard.
