Chapter 27: Tony's p.o.v.

      I saw Thor leave and I sat in the copilot’s seat. “Don’t touch anything.” “Fury, if you think I can’t handle this thing, you’re wrong. I own three.” “I don’t want you touching anything.” I saw and indicator on the board. “We’re coming up on the Helicarrier, buckle up Stark.” I pulled the straps over my check and clicked the latch. Fury turned on the comms. “Agent Romanoff standard landing procedure.” I saw her walk out and clip the boys and Lorelei in. She went down below for a second and then came back up. “Cargo’s secure director fury.” She sat down and buckled herself in. I saw five or six other shield agents come out of the secondary crew quarters and do the same. “Shield quin-jet, please identify.” “This is quin-jet 21389-10a.” “Identification confirmed. Proceed with landing.” Fury flicked a couple of switches and in just a few minutes we’d landed. I got up took my belt off and walked back. Thor opened his eyes. “Have a good cat nap?” “These naps of cats must be infinitely longer than mine.” Loki opened his eyes and looked at me. “Are we there yet?” “Yup, every body up for roll call.” I joked. I saw Phil Coulson walk over towards the quin-jet. “Oh this ain’t gonna be pretty.” Loki was unbuckling Lorelei. He leaned over and picked her up. “She’s a bit heavier than I expected.” “Scary thing is, it’s probably all muscle. Another scary thing coulson’s right behind you.” He turned around with Lorelei. Coulson glared at him. “Another victim?” “Back from the dead?” “Some modern advances in miracle science.” Fury walked out and just stared. “Well,” I butted in, “this is awkward.” Everyone looked at me. Loki tried to walk past Coulson. “Let me get her.” Loki paused, “I am quite capable of carrying my sister.” All the color drained from Coulson’s face. “Surprise!” Thor opened his eyes. “Son of Coul! I thought you were dead.” “I was.” He shook his head. “Director Fury, all departments report normal operation. We’re operating at 93% capacity.” “Only 93%” We have several personnel that called in sick.” “Called in sick?” “I was just as surprised as you sir.”
