With Grace at Sam's, Connie ran across the hallway with the towel wrapped around her body. Catching sight of the time she swore under her breath before wandering into the bathroom grabbing her toothbrush. She was always on time, but whenever it came to this sort of thing she always found herself running out of it. Beginning to brush her teeth, she moved through the bed room picking up her phone checking that she hadn't had any messages.
Throwing it back down she picked up the small remote switching the TV on as she turned the music up a little. Tightening the towel around her body, she wandered back into the bathroom again. She had an hour to do everything, she knew it was ridiculous to panic, it wasn't as though she'd never met the guy before but this was important for her.
She'd never done the conventional dating, and maybe that was part of her problem. After freshening herself up in the bathroom, she moved into the bedroom taking the towel from around her hair. Grabbing the dressing gown from the back of the door, she dropped the towel slipping her arms into the silk gown instead. Sitting down before the mirror, she picked up the hair dryer beginning to sort herself out.
Humming along to the music, she started applying her makeup forcing herself to relax. After all, Jacob had truly seen her at her worst, anything would be better than that. She kept everything fairly simple and light, her eyes shimmering under the bedroom light. Sighing, she ran her fingers through her hair bringing it over her shoulders. She'd straightened it before pinning the sides back, keeping it from her face. Switching everything off, she crossed the room to the wardrobe where her dress was hanging on the door.
Standing before the mirror, she brushed her hands across her stomach smoothing out the soft material. The tight black dress was a stark contrast to her lightly tanned skin. Pulling the sleeves down to her wrists, she turned to look at the back where it laced up from the small of her back all the way to the top. It hugged her figure tightly but left enough to the imagination. Leaning down into the wardrobe she pulled out a pair of black heels, slipping her feet inside before taking the white coat from the wardrobe.
Looking to the clock on the table she saw she had minutes to spare but was quick to mutter as there was a knock at the door downstairs. Picking up the lipstick from the table, she ran the subtle pink across her lips before placing it into the small black purse. Picking her phone up from the side she carried everything downstairs, glancing to the mirror on the wall one final time before moving to the front door.
Jacob waited on the porch looking back to the road as he inhaled deeply, unable to deny the nerves he felt. Turning back to the door he watched as he heard movement from behind it. Pulling open the door she smiled gently as he looked up at her, lost for words. "Wow, you look incredible..." Stepping outside, she pulled the door shut standing on the porch before him. "You don't look too bad yourself." He smiled gently stepping down a few of the steps as she locked the front door. "Care to explain where we're going?" "Nope."
Rolling her eyes she got into the taxi ahead of him before he sat beside her. "You really do look beautiful tonight Con." She felt the colour rush to her cheeks for a moment before leaning into his side as he moved his arm around her shoulders. "Is this not a little bit forward for a first date sweet cheeks?" Jabbing his side he flinched slightly before laughing as she sat up looking out the windows at the front. "Where are we going?" "You'll see..."
After driving for twenty minutes he climbed out of the taxi, helping Connie down before holding her hand as they wandered along the road coming towards a grand entrance. "I hope you like Chinese food-" "What girl doesn't?" He smirked holding her hand as they wandered up the steps before being greeted at the entrance. Jacob gave his name while Connie slipped her coat off quickly. "This way-" "After you..." She smiled gently stepping ahead of him as his eyes fell to her once again.
