—HER STRIPED SWEATER—

JADE HAHN was my best friend since kindergarten, yeah we were those kind of friends. We knew each other inside and out, knew every freckle and scar because we got them together. We had every breakdown and breakup with each other. I thought our friendship would last forever. But it didn't.

It was the first year of high school that separated us. We were so caught up in homework, team projects, after school programs, volunteering, and family. High school was a lot and we both seemed to push our friendship aside for it.

I had my new group, with new friends, new flaws, and new differences. I thought I had gotten over our distanced friendship, because it was two years ago that it all ended because of different classes and different lunch periods.

What I didn't know was that on the first day of eleventh grade I'd find my best friend wearing the striped sweater I gave her on her birthday. That day was the last time we hung out together. But I knew when I we shared eye contact that day, her birthday wasn't going to be the last time we hung out.

I just didn't know how dangerous it was to befriend her again.
