I stepped out of the car, and looked out at the big red brick bridge. Brent walked in front of me, and I followed behind him. He walked to the end of the bridge, and looked far away.
I looked down at the harsh water flowing underneath the bricks. The tears were escaping from me quickly, almost matching the speed of the water flow.
Danielle would have loved this.
She won't ever graduate, or fulfill her dreams.
It's over for her.
Is it over for me?
I plopped myself up at the top of the bridge, and rubbed my fingers between the bridge, accidentally making small cuts.
There wasn't a lot of blood, but it hurt.
I felt a force almost push me into the water, but I snapped out of it.
I looked at Brent, who was still looking to the distance.
I could sense myself start to sing again, but only quietly.
"Brent?" I asked.
"Be careful!"
"I will."
"It's hard about your sister-"
"This isn't about about her."
"Oh?"
"It's about something she said though."
"About not having regrets?"
"Yes."
I jumped off the edge of the bridge, not into the river, but back on the flat part of the bricks.
I walked towards Brent and planted a kiss into his lips.
"Jade.." Brent said as soon as we pulled away.
"Yes?"
"I think I love you."
